FC Tucson's new stadium looks great. I used to work out at the YMCA next door and was really looking forward to it being built, but I moved away last year before it was built so today's SEA v. SJ match is my first time seeing it. Should be awesome for games this year.

The New York Red Bulls will spend part of preseason in Tucson, Arizona, the team announced. Premier Development League club FC Tucson confirmed the Red Bulls would be participants in the 2017 Desert Diamond Cup. MLS clubs Colorado Rapids, Houston Rapids, New England Revolution, New York City FC and Sporting Kansas City will round out the tournament. As part of the preseason tournament the Red Bulls will play two friendlies on Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. The Red Bulls' first opponent will be Sporting Kansas City. The second opponent will be determined upon the results from the first set of matches. The timing of the preseason tournament falls close to the date ranges for the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League. The Red Bulls are slated to play fellow MLS side the Vancouver Whitecaps in the quarterfinals. Dates for the matchup have not been finalized, but CONCACAF has given two sets of dates for which matches will take place during. The quarterfinal matchup will take place over two legs. The first leg will be held during Feb. 21-23 at Red Bull Arena, while the second leg will be held during Feb. 28-Mar. 2. When asked if the dates of the Desert Diamond Cup conflicting with the CONCACAF Champions League, the New York Red Bulls told SNY.tv they had no comment. It is unclear how the Red Bulls will approach the Desert Diamond Cup with crucial CCL matches going on in between matches. The team could send the full squad to Tucson ahead of the first preseason friendly, and fly players back to New York for the first leg, or send a reserve team. Whatever the plan, a team spokesperson said, "RBNY will be in Tucson for preseason."
