Venue: Riazor Bits from Zizou's press conference: "These things happen. It would have been better not to have lost, but in the end they were three points. We lost them but tomorrow we have three new points to fight for and we’re only thinking about that game. Now they’re only saying that Barcelona will win the league and Real Madrid are not worth anything. I know and so do you that this is not true. We can’t prevent people from talking. I tell my players that we don’t have to change anything in what we’re doing. We must continue working hard and moving forward. You can lose games in football". Physical state "I don’t think we're tired. I saw a great game against Barcelona. Physically I saw the team in very good shape, like against Bayern. The team is in good shape and very focused". Team talk "There are always chats with all the players. I’ve been at Real Madrid 17 years and in football for 25 years. It’s normal what happens every time we lose a game. We’re used to it and all we can do is continue with the same ideas and the same fight. We have a difficult match tomorrow against a difficult opponent and in a difficult field. It’s going to be the same from now until the end of the season. We’ve got six league games and at most three in the Champions League and we're going to try to do our best". Varane "He’s no longer in pain. He's training with us and he'll be with us tomorrow. He’s good physically and has trained normally. You'll see the line-up tomorrow. There is no mismanagement. The management is very good. Tomorrow Varane will be fine and if a player gets injured, that’s it, it’s part of the game. We try to get the players right, but injuries are part of a player's life". "I would not change anything at all. We had a great game. Mistakes were made, but I’ll not change anything. We took a risk in what we did. In the eyes of the rest of the world, the two teams had a great game. They won and that's it. I don’t like to lose, but I’ll not change anything". Recent Form: Deportivo: LLDLWL Real Madrid: WWDWWL -Isco will extend till 2022. -Ramos will sit this one out, while Nacho is one yellow away from a suspension. -Bale is injured for 3 weeks, so as Zizou said (well, rather forced to) we really don't need any changes We're only 6 matches away from the league title, we can do it, we have character, we've shown it during the 2nd half of last season, and during the remontadas. Let's get our shit together for this one last month, starting with some Galician ass-kicking, for old times sake!
Every game is a final from now on, starting tomorrow. Let's hope the players are not affected too much by the result from sunday.
I am truly still in shock that Marcelo didn't just foul him. He does that and we have the league sealed up. Just wow.
Come on YS, let's all move forward together. That thought is too painful to keep reliving. Onto Depor, hope Varane is ready to rock.
The first step to the double begins tomorrow. A win puts us back on top and should go far towards motivating the team to see this through. It's time for everyone to step up.
Atl. Madrid 0-1 Villarreal this is a good result for us, Now yellow sub-marines are more motivated against barca and Atleti can't relax before next Tuesday Champions league ( hopefully Sevila can overcome Celta who are also in the EL semi ) . .
You know what I'd like to see ? A huge ass win. Like a humilitiang 6:0 / 8:1 win. We didn't have those in a long time . Now every game seems so close and we barely ever keep a clean sheet.
Deportivo have lost just one of their last six La Liga games at Riazor, keeping two recent consecutive clean sheets in the process. They're tough to beat under Pepe Mel at home. The hosts did manage to beat Barcelona by a 2-1 scoreline last month, but have since failed to score at home in two of their last three outings. we will win it because we have to , I am praying for 3 points minus injuries .... Pepe Mel should remember where he has started his football and be grateful Hala Madrid
Toughest game of the remaining 6 IMO. Granada will most likely be relegated by the time we play that game whilst all the other teams aren't really playing for much. Can't see a diehard Madridista like Michel fielding a strong Malaga team on the last day of the season if we need a result there. Goes without saying that both home games are must-win games. Looking for a huge response from the team tonight. Don't let history repeat itself like 3 years ago!
Resting for what ? MSN play every single game and we are resting players when our season is on the line .
