http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7687492.stm fantastic news that one day bergkamp wants to one day return to arsenal in a coaching capacity, can you imagine a bergkamp adams partnership that would be amazing.
Dennis... can't wait to see you again. Not that I mind you being with Ajax, but you'll look even better in the proper red and white.
Wenger should offer him a job as some sort of intern so that he will be ready to manage when Wenger leaves.
Can't manage a club like ours if you have a fear of flying. We should definately bring him in as a coach under Wenger, but never for the management position.
Bergkamp and Wenger should go into the wilderness and start training like master and students in those karate movies.
If he doesn't get over it, it would completely interfere. We don't know if he's even a good manager, so saying he should succeed Wenger is a bit silly. As a coach he could be phenomenal though.
he probably gets frustrated when he shows you how to trap a ball, and know where you are going to pass it before you get it, and try THAT move against newcastle.... only for most footballers to flub it. such genius.
This thread is great. I would never want Bergkamp to ever manage Arsenal. Sentimental acquisitions in terms of management NEVER WORK!
Always good to have a reason to resurrect and old thread! This time it's because of this interview of Dennis by Wrighty. Probably the most enjoyable 41 minutes of Youtube I've had in a long time. And note the final comments about him coming to coach at Arsenal. It's very clear he doesn't see himself being head coach. Probably academy coach would be a good fit because of his fear of flying. Possible first team assistant coaching if that can be worked out. And all sorts of other lovely tidbits in here. Enjoy!
Just kind of randomly saw something on one of Sky's many many lists of transfers this window... Watford FC sign "M. Bergkamp" I thought could it be? So I looked up Dennis's wiki page and sure enough there was a new entry about his son Michael joining their U23's. Well, well... if this works out, it might just get his dad to take a ferry to England, take up residency again, and who knows... Then again, for all I know his son would say "Dad please stay away"
