Fulham finally have some strikers healthy, so it would appear that Dempsey returns to LM and Pobrebnyak returns up top.
I don't understand how FSC can show Newcastle-Stoke and leave this one to foxsoccer2go. Do they not have a choice of which games to show?
It has been a pretty even match. Fulham having the better of it but are finding it hard to break down this Wigan defense. Dempsey overall having a decent game minus a giveaway which could have led to something but didn't. 0-0 at half.
Hard to get too upset about that one as Clint was never going to get to that ball and I'm not even convinced the foul was in the box, commentators insistence notwithstanding.
Shocking miss from Pogrebnyak right in front of goal. Riise crosses it in, he nails the crossbar and it bounces at least partially inside the goal and away. No goal given and I don't think it was all the way in.
Dempsey is played through on the left, fires a shot from a low percentage angle which Al-Habsi parries. It goes right to Pogrebnyak, who chops it onto the post.
Wigan turn around is pretty easy to understand. Martinez called Felix Magath and Felix told him, foul early and foul often. Seems to work ok.
Its pretty much over now, but here's one: http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/120151/1/watch-fulham-fc-vs-wigan-athletic.html
Too late unfortunately. Dempsey played well, only 1 shot in the 2nd half but he was involved in his usual free role. And he is awarded the assist on Pogrebnyak's goal, as they combined well on a series of short passes which ended with Pogrebnyak slamming the ball into the net from 20 yards.
Nice to watch Fulham play with a proper striker. They created a lot of chances and easily could have had 3 or 4. I'm increasingly optimistic about the future under Jol.
I think Newcastle are one of the more popular teams here as well. Probably behind ManU, Arsenal, Liverpool, and maybe Chelsea and Fulham.
