Debt financing of short term projects to stimulate the economy are a good thing the USA can do, fix roads, trains, infrastructure, electric system, ect. going into debt by increasing permanent social programs is not the best way, because you run up the debt and the interest you pay and create social programs that will also continue to increase, eventually to pay for their constant increase you need more GDP growth (with more tax revenue) you need to raise taxes or you need to keep borrowing to pay for them. BTW you are sort of getting you wish right now, in terms that our deficit will continue to grow and get bigger thanks to the tax cuts, and next year if the Dems win, they will probably not increase taxes too much, but will continue to spend more money on social programs.

don't pretend to know what i wish for sort out your own mess of contradictory views first. Is the money you spend on doctor's bills wasted? Was it worth for you to get an education? Health and education expenditure do not increase the deficit over the long term they decrease it because they generate smarter/fitter citizens who pay more taxes. If the Budget cannot withstand the strain of extra college and health spending how can it cope with the $80 billion increase in military spending in this year's budget?
Again this is similar to what Republicans peddle, cut taxes and GDP growth will increase. It is fine if it works but it svcks if it does not. If you spend money on an education but then get a job driving for Uber then yes the money was wasted, if you spend money on a doctors bills to take care of your 80 year old grandparent to extend his/her life for 6 months, then the money may not have been wasted in your view but it was not productive and now you are in debt. Education is spent by the States with the Federal government giving states (and students) financial help, I am all for States increasing taxes to cover more of the College tuition cost. We should also cut military spending a shit lot, shit I would drop it to 2% of GDP from its current 2.7% (may even be more now).

In a normal country, somebody like Cuomo would be a moderate conservative. I may not agree with him on most issues but he's not a complete ********ing moron who believes that Jesus hunted dinosaurs with an AR15 or that lowering the estate tax for billionaires leads to prosperity for coal miners.
