I totally agree with you. I also think that said buyer must demonstrate proficiency in operation of the firearm and a grasp of state and federal laws. So yes, an actual license AND insurance like a car.

Do I think this should be even broached right now? Hell no! It would only serve to fuel the divide and it would be a wedge topic for the right.

Universal Healthcare is something that I think the left needs to continue socializing.

Continue to argue it's upside, like lower preimiums (payroll tax), zero co-pays/costshares/outofpocket.

I'm concerned about California passing it independently as I think there will be massive market entities with VERY deep pockets looking to manipulate and undermine it, and then highlight it's failure....

TRICARE just dropped Nexium because Pfizer just raised it's cost ">500%' according to my pharmacist.....I want to see BigPharma take it straight up the a$$

Jerry Brown is quite skeptical of the proposal that's working its way through the state legislature. My hunch is that the bill stalls.

It's an uphill battle for sure, but definitely interesting. My health insurance brokers are having a cow worrying about it passing. Much clucking and shaking of heads.

Martin Heinrich has a great politician voice. I fully expect him to run for the Presidency sometime soon.

Yes keep in working to unite the party....

"speculation that Booker will be a contender for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination has been met with condemnation. In 2014, The Washington Post reported he had 74 wealthy donors in common with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the most overlap between opposing party senators of individual campaign contributors. Booker has also served on an education board with Secretary of Education Betsy Devos and owes his position in the Senate in part to New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie .."

I don't like Cory Booker either - I find him incredibly disingenuous. However, think of this as a friendly reminder to consider the source and consider their motivations. The New York Observer, whose article you cited, is owned by Jared Kushner. Jared Kushner (obviously) works for Trump. He has a vested interest in making sure that Trump is re-elected. What better way to increase those odds than by tearing down a leading Democratic candidate?

"Alexandria Ocasio tells why it is necessary to primary corporate Democrats, especially Rep. Joe Crowley:

"Joseph Crowley, my opponent, accepts three million dollars a year in Wall Street, real estate and corporate finance industries; the problem with that is when he accepts so much money and he's never been primaried , he takes this $3 million that he raises and brings other representatives into the orbit of Wall Street. He doles this money throughout the Democratic Party in Congress and then, as a consequence, he's become a very powerful member of the House of Representatives, as a Democrat and gained an enormous amount of influence by spreading corporate influence around."

All the money should be reserved for Republicans. If Democrats get it, from the wrong people, they are corporatists, sellouts and must prepare to be hammered from the left.

According the Rugby Forum, BernieCrats are gonna form their own party. The guy linked a fox piece.
    http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/06/12/b ... -democrats

    My immediate reaction was

This party may help the Republicans hold on to Congress in 2018 because members of this party believe that if the DNC headquarters was hit by a rogue middle the DNC somehow had it coming. They are politiphobes who only think they know how government works. Remember Bernie endorsed 3 people and they all crashed and burned. They will be like the Green Party and show up for presidental elections but not put the graft in to win City councilman seats and all the way up.

I am sick of these people. They don't believe in compromise and stood on the sidelines as the Dems were being attacked by the Anti-Obamacare propaganda machine. They show up late but then demand the keys to the car. On what grounds have you earned that right. You were Awol when it was ugly and dirty like their cowardly leader but now you want to be treated like a king. I also want to point out for all those that want to criticize centrist democrats and have the idea that the people can fundraise with just donations should look at the special election in Montana.

Smart people would play team ball and get citizens United overturned by get a Dem president so the SC can be more liberal but piusness and all that other bullshit meant GOP played teamball and continue to do so while Dems want to act like it is philosophy 101.

I thought they already had the Green Party. And if you dig deeper, there already are other parties even to the left of that like the Communist Party USA, Freedom Socialist Party, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Socialist Action, Socialist Alternative, Socialist Labor Party, Socialist Workers Party etc ...

America has been spitting out fringe leftist parties since the 1800s. In general I think this is inconsequential. Adding another party to that list won't change anything. There is no path in the US for a 3rd party to break away and sustain a robust electorate.

well that was always the beauty of slavery and segregation. The lowest white man was still above a ************. Now it is a fairer race for everyone. When you are used to having an advantage, equality feels like oppression.

As feared, Ossoff will have lost to Handel. Once He didn't get over 50 in the primary, I knew they were trouble. Nobody plays team ball like Republicans. It has been red for 50 years and they were not gonna lose. Dems really need to get their shit together. Not the party, the Citizens of America.

It also explains the male reaction to women equality, people don't want to give up on their/our advantages.

That is what I mean. People say policy and issues matter then vote for the anti-policy person. It is mind-boggling

Dems need to hire Saatchi & Saatchi to help them craft a better imagine. Despite every negative thing about the GOP, they know how sell their sleaze as useful

    "We're not him/them" won't be good enough....it never was.

I know that you don't care for this reference, but Sanders was a broken record on policy (nevermind if you agreed with it or not, nor am I trying to start another debate), his stump was consistent.

Yes but he didn't hit the right notes within the party and She was having everything but policy talked about.

By the way, nice of ya boy to throw shade at Ossoff for no reason. Yet again, failure to play team ball.
