Manchester City: Hart, Richards, Boateng, K Toure, Zabaleta, Vieira, Barry, Yaya Toure, Kolarov, Silva, Balotelli.

Also, it's too bad Houllier starts Friedel ahead of Guzan.

Not gonna happen. Bradley was just brought in for cover and Houllier has no intention of playing him.

Uh oh. I was expecting them to get thrashed, but hopefully he can make a good impression whatever happens. Delph and Herd are going to get targeted all game by City, so Bradley and the midfielders will have to do a lot of work supporting them.

Mikey about to get damn serious, pulling a Dempsey and fighting his way to the starting XI.

    Beast mode engaged.

8 changes from Villa's Saturday lineup - I think Houllier's mailing this one in to focus on the League

we will get destroyed down the sides. Two CM playing as fullbacks. We needed Lichaj back, plus no walker why?

    we are playing a 4-3-3

    Friedel
    Delph-Dunne-Clark-Herd
    Bannan-Petrov-Bradley
    Delfouneso-Heskey-Agbonlahor

Glad to see MB start. But I'm not optimistic. Strong opponent and weakened Villa XI doesn't make for the best situation for a starting debut. Friedel is going to be busy.

it certainly seems like that, but he's playing the only defenders he has healthy, if you don't count Beye and Warnock rotting in the reserves. Plus Bent is not eligible for the FA Cup. He has rotated his squad from game to game, the only ones who have not been rotated to this point are Downing, Young and Walker.

Villa is going to park it and clog the middle. Citeh lineup doesn't appear to be one adept at getting wide anyway. We'll see.

First blood to Villa, as Agbonlahor gets in a decent cross which gets headed to Hart

Bradley seems stationed smack in the middle of the field.
