Bimbos @ Leidos When: TODAY ........... 8:00pm Where - down by the river Nothing like a little Union-busting so close to Labor Day Important game tonight, played in the soupiness of a DC August evening. United: 2 Scabs: 1 #WeWinWednesdays
I am expecting this to somehow not be pretty, meaning no totally ugly... but lousy weather, important circumstances ... Hoping for level heads and smart ball. DC - 2 Ph - 0
Time for Stieber to step up. Asad's energy seemed lacking the past few matches, the enforced rest after the ankle injury might be a blessing in disguise. The Union is a "score by committee" team, so it's important for Canouse and Moreno to track the late runners, either Medunjanin, Dockal or Bedoya to avoid giving up good chances to Philly. The miserable weather will do no one any good.
The team representing the first Capital of the United States vs the the team from the 9th Capital. Wonder if anyone remembered to plug in the reefers and order the ice? ESPN+ and the cable station formerly known as New Channel 8. And a bit of Mr Young 's iconic Down by the River since @fatbastard mentioned it
Dangit, forgot to include channel 8 - The-thankfully-for-us-not-actually-24/7-news-channel I was thinking Chris Farley, but Neil Young sings better
I'm outside now and I'm breaking a sweat just standing still. We spent a lot of energy on Sunday, especially Fisher, Mora, Canouse, Arriola and Acosta. I wonder if this isn't a good opportunity to rotate the likes of Vytas, Harkes and Mattocks for fresh legs ...
One of my expectations of Rooney was that he would break down in weather like this. So far he hasn't. Maybe he's not really English.
It's not only the heat, the "air" has lower quality than a straight tailpipe emission. Reminds me of college in Riverside, California in the late '60's when the smog would roll in like a fog bank late in the afternoon as the sea breezes pushed LA's shit further east into the "Inland Empire." In those days, school kids weren't allowed recess outside and all school sports were cancelled for the day. When it got really bad, the authorities announced a "smog alert." But those were the "good old days" some folks want to return to.
Have Dave and the commentary crew been wearing dc United polo shirts for a while? I’m just noticing that.
It’s happened twice for me now. Screen goes black and then comes back after 15 seconds with a CW Richmond commercial.
Soo close! Roonie has been just a touch off on his shots the last few games. Hitting the post, just high, just wide.
Doing it on Ch 1008 Cox HD, match is blacked out on ESPN+ "for my local area" which could mean Cox Fairfax or who knows? Wonder about the feed the video is way better than usual for 8.
Actually the broadcast engineer is filling "dead air" caused by loss of the feed from the stadium with anything he can key up. Next to an STD, broadcast engineers hate dead air
