I am very nearly to the point where I've given up on the entire sport. I'm not even kidding. I tried to watch the NYC vs. NE replay and soccer in the age of VAR is just not the game I used to love. At the end of the match, I just turned off the stream in disgust; the match was completely ruined by VAR. The most important player on the pitch by far was wasn't Andrew Farrell or Gustavo Bo or Maxi Morales, it was Sylvian Petrescu. Who pays to watch a police officer with a radar gun?
They do it from a cental booth for all games in some city. I think the NBA and nhl do the same thing. It's extremely quick compared to other leagues. Anecdotally, they get it right more often as well
