BREAKING: @dcunited will call @FloFC_ home beginning in the 2019 season. ➡️ https://t.co/HFXxvHCWNQ pic.twitter.com/e3SM8Fm7aG— FloSports (@flosports) January 7, 2019 A lot of MLS teams are moving from RSNs and Local TV to OTT sevices
I assume these are only if you have an IP in that area and via ESPN+ for the rest of us? Not that there are ways around that. I'm surprised that they're not sticking to the traditional TV channels.
Exactly right. Sucks for the DC area fans though as Flo Sports runs $30/month or $150/year Chicago area MLS fans can get every non national game for $5/month or $50/year . DC fans would have to pay $35/month or $200/year
I saw something that the price will be discounted to DC United fans down to maybe $5 per month. Not sure what the final number will be but even that is too much for a handful of games considering that many will be on national tv.
One possibility is for FloSports to give D.C. fans a choice between a full package and a cheap subscription that only includes D.C. United.
Ehh. If it's $5 a month for in-market streaming, I'm not psyched about adding another monthly subscription on top of a bunch but that's a happy hour beer per month for a few matches. NC8/ABC 24/7 didn't even transmit the matches in proper HD, in the year of our lord 2018. And Sinclair sucks shit. Yes NBC Sports Washington would have been the best option, since a lot of us already pay the $8 for it in cable bills but they are clearly not big on paying/offering United a lot of air time for a low rated product. Yep, that's the word on the street but not official yet.
Interesting United announce pricing for the plans - STH & SG members will pay $5.99/mo, while the general public will pay $8.99/mo.— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) January 8, 2019
