As far as I know, Asad wasn't in the picture when Kasper and Goff mentioned players close to green cards. I think it's Brilliant or bust in terms of a green card for 2018.
Specifically, he said "Unlikely. DC already has two starting center backs." True that, but Brillant turns 33 soon and Birnbaum is concussion-prone. Yes, there's Opare and Robinson, but I suspect Parker would work his way into the starting lineup rather quickly. Now, if we are saving up to spend big on a superstud striker then I would forego Parker, but I think he could be very useful, especially as it doesn't look as if we are going to score bushels of goals this season and a stout defense may be what brings us success.
Parker would be an instant starter for most any MLS team. Including this one. The issues are a) Vancouver's asking price, and b) Parker's salary demands (he wants a max salary cap figure). Is Parker worth it for $1MM in allocation money, an international spot, and a $500k salary?

Asad goal in the 42nd minute. Nice steal by Segura in midfield, launched Arriola on a break, who got in deep, on the left, crossed to Asad for the score.
