a) Thanks for jumping on this task! b) We still need to write a check to DCU ($20?) with the VA application, correct? c) Do we mark "Special Interest" or "Other", and what do we write in the box?
Something that should be mentioned I think is that having a plate makes you part of the marketing for the team. I regularly get questions about the plates from people who have no idea what it is (I live a fair bit from DC). Sometimes I also think it lends some "credibility" to the club as people think, "huh, the Ravens (etc) have plates, so this must be a bigger deal than I think." And I drive a lot, so my plates are regularly seen between DC and Vermont. And personally, I have to admit I LOVE driving through NY/NJ with them.
Hell, I'll be driving up the turnpike at 10mph below the speed limit giving everyone the finger with 'em. That's how I roll.
When filling out the 'plate information' section: -check 'special intrest' and write D.C. United -if getting personalized plates check that box too -then fill out your 4 choices of personalization (up to 6 characters) as for payment: -$10 per application for standard plates -$20 per application for personalized plates -major credit cards or personal checks -checks must be made out to D.C. United once application is filled out: -applications and payments need to be sent to D.C. United -either dropped off, faxed, or mailed to: VA License Plates D.C. United 2400 East Capitol Street, S.E. Washington, DC 20003 fax #: 202-587-5400
cool - I hate this latest design though with the logo on the left and 6 consecutive characters, I think mine (which looks exactly like the past DCU marketing sheet) with DCU <logo> FAN looked much better, but I'll bring my filled-out form to the game tonight. Now whether I remember to bring it from the car to your table, that is a whole 'nother level of my remembery that I cannot promise
Well, as expected, my application had a great time sitting in the back seat of my car at the Soccerplex while I was inside watching the game Oh well, maybe it'll make it inside RFK on the 28th
Hey all, Just wanted to remind all of you to come to RFK tonight to watch DCU! And while you're there, pick up a VA application, a MD flyer, or fill out an interest form for DCU plates. I'll have all of this at the Sales tables inside of RFK @ Gate A and Main gate! And if you have a completed VA application & payment- you can drop it off with me @ the Fanatix lounge!! the lounge is located on the 300 level behind section 307 (attached to customer service). If I'm not there, you can leave it with the DCU staff in the lounge, and I'll come get it from them. Thanks everyone! Keep filling out those forms! And make sure you come to the game tonight to support DCU!! Remember: **once your VA application is filled out: -applications and payments need to be sent to D.C. United -either dropped off, faxed, or mailed to: VA License Plates D.C. United 2400 East Capitol Street, S.E. Washington, DC 20003 fax #: 202-587-5400 -DCU intern
How many Virginia applications have actually been turned in? This drive for VA tags has been going on for years... are we anywhere near the required number?
Note to fatbastard: Pin app to your jersey, with cover note saying "ATTN DCU INTERN, VA LICENSE PLATE APP" and as you wander through the stadium, someone might just give you a nudge in the right direction. You'll be prepared!
hahaha, it is more likely somone would write KICK ME on it instead If these were collected at the tailgate I would have a better chance, I'd probably still manage to mess it up, but it would increase the odds
