That system moved slowly. I heard people reacting and then eventually saw the snow, but it took it a while to actually reach where I was standing.

Apparently this saying refers to a catfish, not a feline. Though I don't see any reason to swing one of them, either, unless it's to shake off excess batter.

Interesting. My understanding is that it referred to a 'Cat o' Nine-tails' which was used to whip sailors in the days of yore.

How can the SE's claim to have boycotted the soccerplex when their banner was front and center? Seems a bit two-faced to me!

Correct. The "cat" was a nine-thonged whip that was kept in a bag until used for punishment.

Two-faced would seem to be out of character for SE's of late. :D

Half BB boycotted, DU boycotted, SE pretended they were boycotting, at least according to their twitter...

    What a mess.

You think you're boycotting the owners and the FO. But you're not. You're boycotting the players on the field. Those who wear the Red & Black. Thats what everybody else sees. Personally, I can't see what the heck that does.

How so? It appears to be a near sellout ticket wise, no wars, and no lamentations from the broadcasters about lack of atmosphere. There was even some but thankfully not much dirge droning they call songs in the first minutes. It was all about the game. The team discovered another source of inspiration. It's still the circus even without the elephants.

. Maybe now they've figured out that the team is the real show they'll play like real pros.

People who don't want to show up have that right. People who want to sit on their hands and leave early before a dramatic 97th minute equalizer, well, you have that right too, partners.

I was very proud of the support BB offered the team (along with many others), on a snowy day out in the great wherethe********arewe. My UK friend who came with his kids said about our post goal celebration: "wow... what is it like when you actually win?"

With the FO and the team, I'm looking forward to the part of the season where everyone shows they actually want to work together and stops committing unforced errors -- in human relations or on the field.

Please tell me other Season Ticket Holders received the email regarding,
"This could be your seat at Audi Field.
    Make it yours today."

I PURCHASED 5 TICKETS AND YOU CAN'T FIGURE THIS GARBAGE OUT?!?!

yeah, me too - looks rather dumb-ass in that they just took the master email list and sent this out, but didn't filter out those who have already bought season tickets

I realize they're pushing for the purchase of more season tickets, but they really should have used that filter

My thoughts too but apparently the English majors have attributed the saying to predate the cat 'o nine tails. Since cats come in varying sizes and take different amounts of strength and courage to swing (lion v kitten) I guess it means what you want to think it means

That was so long ago I don't remember
"the part of the season where everyone shows they actually want to work together and stops committing unforced errors"
I never make plans that far ahead

Didn't tally up all the available seats but seems more than likely not all the available seats for season tickets are listed as to I guess create an artificial sense of scarcity.

That's what I assume too. There was supposed to be a cap on season ticket members. Some of the repeated number of tickets available also stand out to me.
