The gift is your chance to walk a mile to the stadium every game - what more do you want? They'd probably pick the highest artificially-dynamic-priced game and apply that cost to every game and tell you that you were saving that much by being a STH and why are you asking for a gift too, you ingrate
I don’t know, take a credit card over he phone? Millions of businesses from small to large do it. Give STMs a heads up that a desirable product is dropping instead of just leaving everyone who doesn’t live/work in the district hanging. Doesn’t seem like a big ask does it?
What’s shady is how they market tickets on their website, the official source for DCU tix. Their seats always come up first, while the lower priced seats an STM is trying to sell are suppressed in the search results
It's your business, why would you promote someone else's attempt to market a discounted version of your product first? You go to a manufacturer's online store, they will list their product at their price, they don't list the Amazon price or whatever first.
Well they do offer you the ability to list them seamlessly through the app, without disclosing that they’ll be very hard to find. It could be argued that this is a similar case to Windows & IE vs Netscape. You’d have to take on more effort to list someplace else to get a fair shake.
I've never seen the tickets I've put up for sale "suppressed" in the search results. Heck, I put my 2 tickets for the NYCFC game for sale, through the DC United app, while I was at the Montreal game on Tuesday, and they sold less than 24 hours later. How would that happen if they were "suppressed"?
Maybe surpassed was not the best word, but tickets offered by someone other than the club don’t show as a normal search would behave. They show up much more readily on ticketmaster.com or stubhub.com. This has been discussed here more than once last season.
People who don't work/live in the District(or close by) had a chance at buying online so to say they were left hanging is not a statement of truth.
Ryan Keefer defense? It didn’t happen to me, so I don’t believe it, so it’s not valid. I had tix at face not sell last year. I don’t know if anything around me went or not, but my seats at face are less than half what they list for by the club.
Fine, left to compete with all the masses for a limited run product which if you didn’t see twitter almost as soon as it dropped you got nothing.
this. they are almost good at sending a notice of upcoming sales and pre-game notices so why didnt they give a notice for this opportunity? I was emailing with my rep on a separate matter the day before and all I got was a cryptic "watch for an announcement tomorrow.." By the time I got the email (and which explained very little btw) it was sold out online and I had no opportunity to get to the stadium shop (as if...even if it seems to be a worthy endeavor)
I couldn’t bring myself to go below cost and that’s the gripe when the tix features are absurdly priced.
While tikatDickTater's default is not to show verified resale seats its not that hard to make them show: when searching on tikatDickTater make sure the "verified resale" button/toggle is "on" and the resale seats will show with the seats being sold directly by the team. The toggle is not hidden.... also interesting to note that tickets turned in to the team for FAM will show as standard tickets at the regularly extortionate "dynamic" pricing.
I just went to Ticketmasters website, picked Sunday’s game and these are the seats that came up: All seats for sale are selected, by default. They’re not hiding anything. Thx, Jay!
I think that's always been the case with Ticket8astard ... however if you go to buy tickets in the DCU app or from their website it's a different matter.
