It is. I wished he'd done more in the game after his career ended. The stint at the Cosmos was not very distinguished.

My knee-jerk thought was: DCU is hiring Eric "Kung-Fu Panda" Cantona?

I then thought: What's next? We bring back Hristo "Fibula" Stoichkov and get a matched set of high-flying lunatics? :p

This is like a mental ink-splotch test-- shows where my mind is, I guess . . .

Ditto, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be an awesome technical director. (Mmm, just what is a technical director?).

I don't think he played in 10 first team games, but as noted, playing career and ability in the front office are not related IMO.

Tommy Lasorda and Sparky Anderson were two of the best baseball managers ever. Lasorda got a cup of coffee in the bigs, Anderson didn't. Sometimes the best players make for shit coaches and managers -- prime example is Wayne Gretzky.

I am neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed. I am not even whelmed. I was hoping for at least a good whelming..? In the mood for "an even more obscure and more surprisingly talented Chris Hull-like hire." But Tom Hunt is stuck in my brain like Toto's "Africa."

Glad we're keeping Asad. Wish Mattocks well. I kinda feel we under-used him in the last half of the season.

He was under-used but at least it was an understandable under-use. It wasn't a Salihi sort of under-use.

I still think we need a genuine striker, but not Mattocks, to make better use of Rooney's best attributes at this point in his career: his one touch distribution.

We need a guy with a soccer brain. Not just an athletic player, but a smart one.

When I started hearing 'Africa' played a lot this year, it took me awhile to realize Weezer had put out a cover of the song and that it wasn't some miraculous resurgence of the previous recording. It certainly didn't sound as if there was much of a change from the original.

I received 2 separate emails from DCU yesterday asking me to "reserve my seat" for only $20. Sheesh, how is it their sales dept doesn't see they are already taxing me monthly for 3 seats....?

Of course they know. It's that you should be getting 6 seats instead of 3.

If you knew how easy it was in their email marketing tool to segment the lists so this doesn't happen, you'd cry. This is literally 10 minutes of work, to adjust how the list is constructed to exclude the email address that exist in another table that lists the STMs.

But . . . but . . . but . . . that's just the kind of business-savvy improvement that the likes of a Tom Hunt should have been able to implement. Surely, with all his acumen, he should have got this done.

Oh wait, he was too busy with redesigning the club's badge, "fixing" Talon's head . . . vital shite like that.

Saw a tweet this morning that there will be no locker room sale this year.

Guess I can quit imagining how much they'd be charging for Rooney's training socks :)

So let me get this straight. They finally have a used locker room to sell, after years of having a locker room sale that included NO ACTUAL LOCKER ROOMS, and they cancel the sale.

Did Dane Murphy ever take the position as DCU's Technical Director? It's been a month since it was reported this was going to happen.

his linkedin says he is at dcu but the dcu webpage does not indicate any relationship with him on the Tech Staff (except for 2008 pressers re: reserve team games).

Lindsay still showing as VP of Marketing and Comms. So, we got that going for us.
