So cashing in my $150 of FAM was not too hard once I finally figured out how to use the app (Thanks Shawn for letting me know that's where I needed to go...my rep never responded to my email from earlier in the week.)

Finally the whole family will come out to Audi field and we'll be over on the West side stand.

I agree. He's extremely quick to respond and really seems to care.
He doesn't fix every problem, but he's actually invested in helping... or really good at pretending he is. ;)

He did not directly help with my issue but put me in touch with those who did help.

Wait a sec ... that would be like no events next year.
The 20% I can usually get at Fanatics.com is going to trump the the 10% I get from the team. I can't imagine that it will not be hard to just whip out my phone and order whatever thing I am looking at in the store.

Considering that this year we had the Meet the Team and a Charity event (Not really a STH event) you would most likely be right.

screenshot_dcu2.jpg I have to give the DC United ticketing office props. I was getting a bit frustrated trying to get someone to talk to about wheelchair-accessible seating at Audi Field, and to make sure they have wheelchairs for limited mobility fans. I was thinking about taking my 87-year-old Dad to this Sunday's game (his first time at Audi Field). He and I went to the first DCU game ever at RFK in '96.

I tweeted the attached message at DCU and quickly got a direct message apologizing for the hassle and asking for my phone number and email address. I got an email a few minutes after that asking me how many tickets I wanted and for which game (I was actually confused in my tweet because I wanted tix for the Chicago game this Sunday and already have tix for the Toronto game on the 17th).

Anyway, the next message I received was about 20 minutes later. It read:

"Hopefully we can come away with a win in his first match at the new stadium. I will be providing you with a pair of complimentary tickets for this Sunday’s match. You can expect them to be loaded onto your account either Friday evening or Sunday morning. Please let me know how else I can help."

Well done, DCU and Account Executive Colin Dilworth.

    Vamos United!

So the moral of this story is they can fix their screw ups. Got it.

Any other folks with printed tickets:

I noticed a misprint on mine for this weekend, in that they say Sunday October 17 instead of October 07

I have been assured that they'll work just fine thru the scanner - we'll see :)

Are you referring to my post about the free tickets for my dad and me?

If so, the "moral of the story" is good customer service should be the first reaction of an organization when a customer has a legit problem. They shouldn't have to be dragged there. And in this particular instance when they heard of the issue they went further than needed to fix it, and they did it quickly. I have criticized DCU for numerous things over the years so it's only fair to compliment them when they handle a customer well.

    Damn you're cynical.

Well I'll know right away by the look in his eye

Other than an occasional banner ad, does DC United do any advertising? I don't see any.
Of course I don't get the station formerly known as Newschannel 8 so that is probably some of the advertising.

They do run some commercials on Ch 8 - but that's probably the only place I have seen one.

Other than that, some local weather people put United games on their forecast maps (and believe it or not not all are on ch 7 or 8), that may be the closest thing to advertising games that I've seen.

On Benning Rd this morning I saw a weird Orioles ad which reminded me of how little I see DC United ads.

Their marketing partners do some advertising for them. This past Sunday, after an event at Arena Stage, @merrybee and I were briefly in the Safeway on 4th Street SW near the Waterfront/SEU Metro station, and there was a sign inside saying that Safeway was the "Official Grocer (or whatever) of the Black and Red".

Other than that, I can't remember seeing any advertising.

Maybe their advertising is targeted so well that since I have season tickets and are likely to renew, I don't see any ads. :)
