In the regular season, probably. In the playoffs, no. No bones were broken and there wasn't a copious amount of blood.
somebody missed the "flow" memo. With every ticky tack little thing he was calling, why not red for that?
Switching back-and-forth between the NY Giants/Saints touchdown fest and this game, I missed it in live action, but watching the replay just after it happened it would be hard to justify only a caution here. I wonder what instruction PRO gave for the playoffs. I think Bazakos pulls red in a regular season game. Unfortunate that at this point, none of the cautions are on the MLS site. Espindola is a Vegas favorite to get tossed in the second leg. Was there a play where he wasn't arguing something?
As well as PRO has improved the refereeing in MLS, it's really disappointing to see the standard of refereeing go back to the old days in MLS for the playoffs. It has been like this for a couple of years under PRO. They referee totally different when the playoffs come around. The Portland and KC match along with Seattle vs. LA were just out of control. Terrible tackles gone unpunished.
FWIW, according to Steve Goff's blog post, he asked Walton about the Zubar tackle and his response was "Reckless. Yellow card."
No. #MLS has completed it's review of Ronald Zubar's foul & will not take any more disciplinary action. No fine or suspension for Sunday #rbny— Brian Lewis (@NYPost_Lewis) November 2, 2015 Thx, Jay!
