It's not soccer related but who cares Ljubicic won 6:3, 6:4, 6:3 It's 1:0 for Croatia Now it's Ancic vs Hrbaty Go Mario, go PS: A lot of cro fans in Slovakia,it's almost as Ivan/Mario are playing at home.
I think he himself is surprised how well he played through out the season Federer is the only one he didn't beat this season (lol, 4 tournament finals against him, four loses) If Ancic manage to win this today, who knows, we might see Ivanisevic in action once again (he and Ljubicic in couples, that would be interesting)
Ancic sucks on Davis Cup singles... I don't know why Pilic didn't just play Ivo and let him tear down some aces... It all rests on the doubles...
Thought Ljubo would seal it in the 4th rubber, but he went down in 5 sets, Hrbaty some killer tennis. But Ancic, (finally) kept his nerve. Makes you think what would have happened if Beck could have played the singles...
We would won again.. CROATIA - DAVIS CUP CHAMPIONS!!!! Well done guys PS: a neighbor had some pretty cool fireworks
I have Ljubicic's autograph on my US Open ticket stub after his match this summer. I will always cherish it. A very nice guy who didn't leave until everyone got their autograph.
Davis Cup 2016 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Davis_Cup It's interesting to mention that Argentine Team Captain Daniel Orsanic has Croatian origins. http://www.lanacion.com.py/2016/11/24/daniel-orsanic-la-sangre-croata-del-capitan-argentina/ "Incluso tiene raíces croatas según investigaciones genealógicas de los últimos años el mítico Diego Maradona, cuyo tatarabuelo materno, Mateo, habría nacido en Dalmacia, en la actual Croacia, en tiempos del Imperio Austro-Húngaro."
Davis Cup 2017 Croatia lost against Spain 2-3 in Osijek. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Davis_Cup_World_Group Croatian players Borna Coric, Marin Cilic, Ivan Dodig said that they are tired / injured. Somehow Cilic and Coric manage to find strength for ATP Montpellier, 6th February https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_ATP_World_Tour http://www.atpworldtour.com/en/scores/current/montpellier/375/daily-schedule Almost no one playes for their team, if we observe top 10-15 players.
DAVIS CUP 2018: CROATIA - KAZAKHSTAN (Қазақстан, Казахстан, Қазақстан Республикасы, Qazaqstan Respy'bli'kasy, Республика Казахстан, Respublika Kazakhstan) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meniń_Qazaqstanym Corsac fox looks really nice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corsac_fox
Roland Garros 2018: Marin Cilic is in the quarterfinals https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_French_Open_–_Men's_Singles Ivan Dodig, Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic are in Doubles and in Mixed Doubles competition. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_French_Open_–_Men's_Doubles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_French_Open_–_Mixed_Doubles
Marin Cilic lost against Del Potro. Marin even said this during the match: Ne mogu pogoditi nijednu loptu (eng. I can't hit any ball). Obviously he can't win against players like Nadal, Federer, Murray, Del Potro in key matches.
Davis Cup 2018: France - Croatia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Davis_Cup https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Davis_Cup_World_Group
Final; 23–25 November 2018 https://www.daviscup.com/en/draws-results/tie.aspx?id=M-DC-2018-WG-M-FRA-CRO-01 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Davis_Cup Lille, France (indoor clay)[9] 1 France 4 Croatia Tsonga 261 place? I don't see some major threat for Croatia here, except domestic atmosphere in France and their fans. They will be great in doubles with Herbert and Mahut. Cilic and Coric top 15 players in singles. Mate Pavic 3rd in doubles.
