Why was Davinson subbed in the second half? Hopefully not for playing badly.

Was nothing wrong with his performance. Tactical reason as Spurs was chasing a goal, subbed for a midfielder. They wanted to dominate, both Alderweireld and Vertonghen are as midfielders when it comes to their passing game.

Spurs with a three back line again which was in use at the start of Sanchez Spurs career, where he play in the middle of them and use his quick feet to sweep up.

Davinson on the bench today against Man United....any insight? or just a rotation issue?

They do play again on Sunday so it may just be a rotation thing.

Well all of last season Alderweirald wouldn't sign another contract so they benched him, not just for that but also because Davinson was playing very well, now he's on his last year hasn't left and they are trying to get him to sign an extension with a buyout clause. Its not ideal, Alderweireld is a very good CB so not like he's getting beat out by a scrub but he may get less playing time this season.

Could also be a simple tactical thing too.
Two Belgians who know Lukaku very well were out there neutralizing him.

    How was Davinson today?

Futmob gave him a. 5.9 rating Jan Vertongen was worse with a 5.2

I read something that Davi knocked the ball out of bounds for a corner that led to the winning goal??

Luckily for us we play PSV in their home stadium next so with a win and should Barca own Spurs as expected we're in a golden position overall. Just need to play it smart when we play Barca back to back.

He did the best that he could....kinda. 2nd goal he probably could've had better coverage over the winning header and Icardi's goal he was completely alone to strike the ball outside of the 16 (not up to Sanchez to cover) .....but Tottenham dominated most of the minutes and wasted too many chances. Inter is not that good.
Tottenham needs a wall like Barrios in MF but to be fair Tottenham just isnt deep enough to make it too far in CL.

Thanks for the info. Good to know.
Man....it’s only the first game of the CL to be saying they can’t go far. LOL

Hope they get their act together. Don’t know how I feel about Davinson rotating so far this season, but I understand why.

This was Tottenhams 1st game and away from home. They also used a bunch of subs. They dominated just unlucky

agreed that this may be temporary but they just dont seem to have that depth that a couple other teams have. I'm sure Pochettino will work thru it. They just look dry/static upfront with no ideas except give it to Kane, who himself looks tired. They broke thru Inter several times but were a bit empty for ideas as to how to finish the play. They have some key injuries like Dele Alli but even guys like Son and Ericssen look off (maybe still tired from WC ?) compared to end of season last year.

Great game today, battled the whole game and was physically imposing. Was a force at the back from Spurs and won everything that was near him.
