He's going to stay at Großaspach as the 3rd GK, but add U17 & U19 GK coaching to his responsibilities:

David Yelldell will be the goalkeeper of the third-league team from the upcoming season, while assuming the responsibility for the further development of the U17 and U19 keeper. This puts the 35-year-old into the coaching staff and is at the same time available to the club as number three on the goalkeeper position. Yelldell will thus succeed Michael Gurski. The current goalkeeper would like to focus more than before on his career next to the soccer field in the financial sector, which is why the contract with the 38-year-old was not extended by mutual agreement.

    Better link: http://bit.ly/2q6GOpD

Seems some of the extended URL symbology causes truncated links.

Transfermarkt also says he's still at the club as a goalkeeping coach. A report from last April, upthread, said he was going to be a player-coach working with youth teams on the side. I guess he decided to scrap the player part of it.

The guy worked hard and paid his dues - primarily as a backup. He got a small taste of the big time which is far more than what most players will accomplish

My favorite David Yelldell factoid is that he was at Bayer Leverkusen for five seasons and only made two appearances: the first and last games for which he was eligible to play over the course of the entire stint.

He started Leverkusen's DFB Pokal opener in 2011/12.

He didn't play for Leverkusen again until the end of the 2015/16 season. Leverkusen's backup Dario Kresic started the last game of the season, so Yelldell made the bench for the first time all year. Kresic came out with an injury early in the second half, so Yelldell got a sendoff performance.
