I like the fact the American Play-by-play guy on Fox Sports 1 mentioned that if it wasn't for Ospina's saves the match would have been an even greater blowout. He was not a reason Arsenal played so lousy today.
Arsenal just fell apart after Kos was subbed out. The defense was just crap. Mustafi, Coquile, Gabriel, they were all terrible. I don't think that one single goal can be pinned on Ospina. He did all he could under the circumstances. And he had some good saves. Bayern could have easily scored another 3 or 4. I also felt bad for Alexis, at times it was like it was just him against the world. Ozil, I don't what happened to that guy, he's a shadow of his former self.
Ospina was not challenged much in FA cup against Sutton united (5th tier team) today. He had handful of basic shots that went right to him and punched out a couple. One shot went off the woodwork which could have been a goal if the ball was a few inches down. He has one terrible clearance where he passed the ball out of the box to an opposing player...against a top flight team, it would have led to a goal Good clean sheet to have after the Bayern game.
Ospina subbed in for cech today after the 40th min against west brom. Score was 1-1 at the time of sub Arsenal now down 3-1. One goal was clearly opsina's fault. Don't know about the other. Nevertheless, it's a bad day at the office for Arsenal. Can't wait for Arsenal fan tv
Yes. Don't know what happened but he hobbled off the field. Ospina is coming into the INternational break with two recent crappy results, so hopefully the bolivia/Ecuador games will be a breath of fresh air
Any Arsenal fan (myself included) will agree that March is usually the month where they melt down the most.
Just read that Ospina will get the starting nod over Cech for the FA Cup final against Chelsea tomorrow - but the odds are not in his favor. Laurent Koscielny - absent due to suspension Gabriel Paulista - absent due to injury Shkodran Mustafi - not likely to play Against Chelsea and with Arsenal's plan B likely to play in the back, Ospina will definitely get a good workout tomorrow. This is where Ospina can make a great name for himself if he plans to go elsewhere after this season....
Arsenal win the FA Cup for a record time for both Wenger and the club. Ospina really stepped up after they gave up a goal and then gained the lead again.
If this is his last game at Arsenal, he went out strong and helped contribute with a trophy finish. Hope he finds himself in a better playing situation next season wherever that may be.
It was a great shot and his d just left him open. Watched the game my issue is what the EPL fans say. Dude just deflects shots he never grabs them. That's what keeps him from being a top club keeper.
Myself and a couple others have been saying that since his days at Nacional. If he hasn't corrected it by now, consider it permanent. Smart teams with a good poacher will have that well scouted.
http://www.espnfc.com/soccer-transf...-in-talks-over-transfer-to-fenerbahce-sources The captain of Fenerbahce is also the GK and has been the #1 for the past 10 years. if this move is true, i hope Fener is planning on playing Ospina weekly....
AC Milan would be a good place for Ospina next season....especially with Cristian Zapata as one of the CB's their chemistry together would be even stronger as we get closer to Russia 2018 http://www.espnfc.us/italian-serie-...mma-tells-ac-milan-he-will-not-renew-contract
Zapata is good as gone from AC Milan. But that 18 year old they have is the next Buffon. Stay away from there. Ospina doesn't know how to grab the ball and 80% of the time deflects it. He needs a midtable Spanish or Italian club. Him leaving Arsenal to be a backup for a 18 year old seems like a dumb move plus will get less money
