If you guys aren't listening to Dave Ramsey and applying his methods, you should be. 1 hour of his show is available as a podcast on iTunes everyday. Check him out and get your debt to disappear.
I've listened to him and wondered if anyone has used his system. His ideas sound good but so do those of many diets. The longterm answer for both financial success and weight loss is discipline. How does his program deal with that part of the issue?
He "deals" with it by putting the onus on the individual. That is to say, he makes no bones about calling people out when they spend beyond their means and then find themselves in financial difficulty. The best I can tell (I'm reading some of his stuff now), he tries to make the point that, essentially, credit is bad. Make more...spend less -- and when you spend, spend cash only. No ifs, ands, or buts. It's a fairly straightforward, no-frills approach.
