Shoot. I wouldn't have opened this one if I'd seen that. I think it didn't come up when I searched because I didn't include the accent marks on his name.
Allow me http://lmgtfy.com/?q="Danijal+Brkovic" Google Translate: Brkovic: I'm happy for the arrival of the Olimpic Danijal Brkovic who in the past two years appeared to Željeznicar of next season will wear jersey Olimpico. He arrived on the island as a free agent and has already agreed a two-year collaboration with'' Wolves''. Brkovic who was at the time when he played for Velez in force for one of the most talented players in the league, in the ranks Olimpico comes as a big boost. - I am happy to come into the match as Olimpic. Certainly it is a quality team with some great players. I followed their games last season, now they got some new players and I believe we have a team that can contend for high goals in the coming season. You look forward to once again share the dressing room with Zebom, Bogićević and SMAJIĆ who played with me in the greens. It's really about the great guys and excellent igračima.Ukoliko we're all healthy and ready to believe that we can make a big score next season. Brkovic has already had the opportunity to work with Mirza Varešanović while playing for Velez. This cooperation has been more than successful, and this footballer hopes to continue in the same uniform Olimpico. - Mirza Varešanović with much success led Velez at the time when I played in the club. I must admit that this is a brilliant specialist with whom I worked great. With Velez made great results and I believe it will do the same with the team Olimpico, told SCsport.ba new footballer Olimpico, Danijal Brkovic. http://olimpic.ba/cms/vijesti/250-brkovi-sretan-sam-zbog-dolaska-u-olimpic http://olimpic.ba/cms/vijesti/247-brkovi-i-alexandrinho-novi-igrai-olimpica This is FK Olympic Sarajevo, also of the B&H top flight.
Appears to be starting regularly and the club is in 5th place: http://www.sportsport.ba/tabela/Premijer-liga-BiH-2014-2015/777/ekipa/FK-Olimpic/15/info
Here is video of his goal on Aug 27 (his first of the season) - he scored the opening goal as the highlights start. The speed of play is quite slow in Bosnia The game was quite the hot ticket, as you can see.
Bosnians tend to be quite slow in tempo and technical. I think that might be why you see a lot of them end up in Italy.
Olympic Sarajevo defeated FK Mladost Velika Obarska 3-0 today. Brkovic scored the opening goal in the 3rd minute. Video is actually very easy to come by in the Bosnian league. In case anyone speaks the local language, Brkovic gave this interview with Olympic's official website - talking about the club and his season's prospects, etc. http://olimpic.ba/cms/vijesti/269-brkovi-ova-ekipa-ima-kvalitet-moemo-biti-jo-bolji
Outstanding header on his goal on Friday.. Check it out (0:20 of this clip). Also check out Olimpic's second goal, a sweet bicycle.
Brkovic hitting his stride with another goal today. His 3rd in 4 games Danijal & Olimipic Sarajevo lost to rivals FK Sarajevo 4-2
Video of his goal is at 4:20 here the good news is that with two Sarajevo teams going against each other, it was a better crowd than last week for Danijal where Olimpic Sarajevo played at home in front of 51 people.
He finshed today with 2 goals With 5 goals so far on the season there is a chance he could be tied for the scoring lead in Bosnia Premier Liga at the end of the weekend - depending how other guys do. It's good to see after being hospitalized for such a long stretch earlier in the year
Here are the highlights of Olimpic Sarajevo's most recent game (3-0 win over Travnik) on Saturday. Brkovic's goals are scored at 0:41 and 1:00 of this clip. BTW, I love how easily Bosnian Liga highlights are made available online. More importantly, in Olimpic's last home game the reported attendance was 51. The good news is that for this game the attendance was reported to be 200 - which is 4x as high. That's quite a jump. That being said, I thought that the attendance of 51 two weeks ago was fudged. It couldn't have been more than three dozen, at best. There was noticeably more people at this game but 200 is also an overly generous number.
We don't have such a big fanbase, our average attendance is 200 per match realistically, but as of now, mathematically it is somewhere around 600(due to two large derbies where the stadium is usually filled, bringing two matches of about 2 500-3 000 viewers to add to the quota, one was already played at the start of the season, next one is in the next half of the season). Attendance figures in Bosnia in general are catastrophic, especially nowadays that the league's quality has stagnated over the years to this level. The highest attendance average is about 2 300 - 3 000 from clubs like Zeljeznicar, Sarajevo and Sloboda, but even they have days where only a few hundred show up. As opposed to the, say, Conference National in England(5th division, amateur league) where you've got clubs like Wrexham and Aldershot Town whose cities/towns have some 30-40 000 inhabitants(Sarajevo, the bigest city in Bosnia, has about 600 000-800 000 inhabitants, and obviously 4 major clubs; Olimpic, Zeljeznicar, Sarajevo and Slavija), who muster an average of 3-4 000 per match, not to mention leagues and their respective clubs above that league have huge attendance figures on a regular basis, so Bosnia is doing horribly when it comes to that. Some people complain that the ticket prices are too high(5-15 KM usually, approx 2.5-7.5 €), the wages are low in the country so it is understandable, though Olimpic offered for some period of time a price of 1 KM(half a euro, less than a buck) for tickets, while retired people, kids under 12, and women can go in for free. But this didn't bring many people to the stands, so it isn't all about the prices, it isn't in the culture and tradition to go to matches and in England people bring their entire families so the attendances are huge when they cultivate the tradition like that - not in Bosnia though. In the English leagues, they pay way more for their matches, and still go to most, if not all of the matches. As for stats; the FA documents the attendances, line-ups, goals, cards, subs etc. Here you can see a list of all the matches, you click on whichever match you want to see the statistics etc. Last match we had an attendance of 350, which is quite good considering that the opponent was weak. Next match is possibly the most prestigious in this half of the season, the current table leader is coming to Otoka(our home), we're third on the table, they've scored 24 goals so far and we've scored 23 so far i.e. we're the two teams having scored the most goals. Anyhow, about Brkovic; he's doing very well with us, had a cold during the match against Drina Zvornik so he didn't play, but he played in the 2nd leg of the cup during the 1-0 loss. The team played with the reserves and some juniors because we won the first leg 4-0 at home, and the coach Mirza Varesanovic said he was saving the key players for the match against Siroki. I don't know if Brkovic will be playing though, it has been snowing and all of the terrains in Bosnia are soaked or packed with snow. Not an ideal situation for somebody who just recovered from a cold. 2nd leg in the cup vs. Celik Zenica, Brkovic in the back
