I still believe playing another season for us is the most likely option. Petrachi comes in officially in a week or two and smooths things over and DDR signs a one year deal worth 2 mil or so.
After forcing De Rossi to give that press conference? I mean, I'd love it, but it'd be a pretty big egg on the face of Roma's management. Kinda feel like pride/embarassment/ego would prevent Jimmy and his snakes from doing it, despite it being the right thing to do.
I think it's an easy sell to say that in all the sporting director/management upheaval things got cocked up and things should have been handled better. Such is life and we always intended to offer DDR a renewal. But we're happy to have new management in place and move forward to get back in CL He's said similar things in interviews/quotes before Edit: palotta, not baldini. Who knows what the hell baldini does/says/advises.
A bitter, regretful argument, heart-wrenching goodbye and subsequent emotional reconciliation . . doesn't sound very Italian.
FWIW, Solano seemed to leave the door open to another twist in the De Rossi story on the Roma Press podcast released last night. I just don't see it. The press conference already happened. There is a sold out Olimpico, preparations are underway for whatever ceremony they will have. Meanwhile, Pallotta is still in Boston doing god knows what. I'd like to be wrong on this. I just don't see how it happens though. If anything were to change I think it would have to happen before Sunday, and what are the chances of that?
Neither do I. People like Pallotta and the people he surrounds himself with hate to admit when they're wrong, and even more than that, they hate showing any kind of weakness. Ditching De Rossi was a power move, and now they'll look weak if they succumb to the fans. Logic gets thrown out the door when your ego's attacked.
I don't think rectifying an obvious mistake would show weakness. It would show our mangement is still capable of recognizing mistakes and fixing them before it is too late.

I hope he goes to Boca or somewhere else abroad. It will only make it sadder if he retires in this way.
