What does Di Livio have to do with Argentina's league? Burdisso was on a team because he was good enough to be on their books...I don't think many Serie A teams are into charity with non-homegrown or fan favorites.
Parma, Chievo and Palermo I believe. They had been in the top flight for the last 20 years more or less. Parma were a top club throughout the 90's and into the early 00's and had superstars. Guillermo Barros Schelotto left Argentina in a heartbeat to go and coach Palermo. He only lasted a month because he didn't have his UEFA license but if he could stay in Italy, he would. Most players and even coaches would relish a chance to go to Italy and the top 5 leagues in Europe as in the long run, that is where the potential to make money is.
Italian teams have waaaaaaaaaaay too many financial problems to be using that as some example. Parma, Viola, Chievo, Palermo, hell even Inter and Milan...I'm sure there's more.
Chris Cuomo you mean! Nothing at all. I'm just pointing out how difficult it is to play in the lower divisions in Italy. I've seen the C2 played on a weekly basis and trust me, legs will be broken like his was. I'm sure he was good enough. There still was no way Burdisso would be able make the same amount of money in Argentina as his did as a 37 years old in Torino. I agree with this. Italian clubs overextend themselves way too much trying to outdo or even compete with Juventus. They are all still in much better financial shape than Argentine clubs though. Back to the thread, aside from the many Oriundi or Italo-Argentini, I'm pretty sure DDR is the first Italian player to play for Boca in modern times. I remember they offered Roberto Baggio a contract to celebrate their 100 year anniversary but he turned them down as he was injured.
Yeah Cecchi Gori's team , Fiorentina lost money but he didn't. I was working for them as soon as they were relegated and Della Valle inherited the club. He was still living like a king snorting cocaine with Valeria Marini. Maurizio Zamaprini bought Palermo just so he could become a big wig , fraternize with the local Mafiosi and get his grocery chain into Sicily. He could care less about the team but by having a great or even good team, he could then reap all the rewards. I think he ended up getting a retail shopping mall built and then in the end sold the team for 10 Euro. They all say they "lose money" but in reality, they make money coming out of their ears and in their sleep.
#BocaJuniors, #DeRossi will wear number 7 in Copa Libertadores https://t.co/HljDVzQjts— David Amoyal (@DavidAmoyal) August 17, 2019
🇮🇹😍pic.twitter.com/9nEz6pJ4ap— Planeta Boca Juniors (@PlanetaBoca) August 18, 2019 Debut in the league. 2-0 win playing the full 90 in a 2 man midfield.
I’m thinking of getting a De Rossi jersey, should I go with 16 or 7? Why is he playing with different numbers?
Come on..that's a no brainer... Pavon left so they could add De Rossi but had to use the free number already registered? I'm assuming that's it but it does seem weird.
I'll probably never fully get over my anger towards management for letting him go, but I gotta admit that Boca DDR shirt is sexy as hell. Not one for buying shirts anymore, but I might have to make an exception.
Me when he signed - thats great for him, don’t see why I’d buy jersey though Me after 2 games - I guess I could get one
He just needs to correct his lisp. I think its an Italian thing to keep and not correct it. I heard it came from the Agnelli family but that was not knwoing how to pronounce the 'R's.....Because they were supposedly the richest family in Italy, everyone wanted to talk tlike them...Bohhhhh....

All derbies are taken out of proportion. As things stand they are second in the table and still undefeated.
