Who mentioned MLS? Is it against forum rules to ask the age old question about the “level of the(ir) league”?

If anything , I’m comparing their league to Italy’s lower divisions (Serie C & D) but I didn't refer to , care or think about MLS in that post. Never wanted to and I still think it’s a valid question to ask. Also , as far as Serie C in Italy is concerned, its very competitive and always has been. The clubs don’t have money or stars but it’s a very tough league to play in.

I’m not convinced. Skill wise , Argentina has top players but last I heard many players and coaches couldn’t even receive their paychecks on time and would go weeks without getting paid. I don’t care how you twist it, there is only so much a professional can or will do when he doesn’t get paid. It’s no wonder why their top players stand in line at Spanish and Italian consulates trying to get their bisnonni’s Italian or Euro passports wanting out. Angelo DiLivio went from playing in the Korean World Cup in 2002 to playing 16 total games in C2. When he got his leg broke he was never the same. They only kept him on because he made a pledge to stay, promising him a position only to renege after he quit. Burdisso who told DDR to come over , left Italy only a year ago at 37 years of age. It’s not like he went back at an older age to play in his homeland because he milked Serie A’s money for as long as he could.

Dude not more than 2 seasons ago, an Italian top flight team wasn’t paying their players either. I wish I remembered the exact team, sorry.
