That's so ambiguous. Do you mean you are the "classic" so no one will date you? Or do you mean you would only date a classic and none of them will date you?
@GalaxyPodcast reports the Galaxy will have approximately 7,500 season ticket members this season. That number is down from a year ago but by how much is uncertain. Sports Illustrated claimed the #LAGalaxy sold 11,400 season tix in 2017, which would put the drop at nearly 4,000.— Kevin Baxter 🇺🇦🏳️🌈 (@kbaxter11) February 16, 2018 4,000 fewer season tickets sold. 7,500 total … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ LOL #FirstTo(Seventy)Five(Hundred)
Apparently at some point last year the Timbers owner Paulson tweeted that the number reported last year (11k+) was in no way matching what was shared between owners. So i'm guessing that the 11k was bullshit (far too high). Of course if they bullshited the # last year, then it's likely they did the same again this year...
There is no way we had 11k+ last year. Which only makes that 7500 number scarier. I'm still a season ticket holder. However, last year was just about the worst year ever so I can't blame anyone for deciding not to renew.
The only "good" thing would be is if that 7500 is legitimate. and not also grossly over inflated, so we'd have at least some baseline of comparison.
Doesn’t surprise me at all, from an org that used to announce attendance of 27,000 with broad swathes of seats empty and then discovered a few years ago there were only 25,000 seats. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
I thought the stadium's official capacity day one was 27,000? I mean it's one thing to report tickets sold instead of physical attendance (which frankly, is common practice - even the Premier League does it) but surely elements like fire safety, emergency situations, planning permission etc, requires accurate disclosure of number of seats? I mean this would be on engineering documents, blueprints, ALTA surveys, so would be a matter of public record.
Was there any other real official declaration of the stadium side other then that reporters "counting" of the seats?
Amusingly enough the updates the Chargers made have added 1,300 seats to the stadium. So if you take the new figure of 25,500 as accurate the stadium capacity is within spitting distance of 27,000 again. Over the tannoy they would certainly announce attendance at 27,000 and their marketing materials would make mention of 27,000 seat soccer stadium and 8,000 seat tennis stadium. I actually recall reporters being skeptical of the 27,000 number and doing seat counts coming up with a lower number. It is entirely possible someone reported 27,000 and AEG/MLS and everyone just ran with it. 27,000 was the number bandied about from the beginning. Maybe they were guesstimating 1,500 people would fit in the grass berm in a GA setting.
Oh that’s interesting. I’d heard 25,500, but the site specifically says 25,667 which is an oddly specific number, with the extra 1,300 seats that would put capacity at 26,977. I could very easily see plans for the stadium having included seats on the berm and coming in close enough to 26,977 that rounding up to 27K was reasonable. Then seating on the berm got dropped, but the 27K figure persisted.
In fairness, the fact that they sold tickets for the berm, would legitimately constitute capacity. 27,000 "seat-capacity" may have become a common misconception.
FWIW, the renovations these last couple years have added seats on the berm and in the southeast corner but, the upgrade from benches to chairs in the upper deck has taken away a number of seats since the chairs take up more space. The seats on the berm may have had a projected number increase but, they stopped adding benches which would have covered that area all the way to the top of the stands where tarps are now so, the actual number of added seats is less than the projected number as well. I'm gonna try to count as many seats as I can over this season. If anyone wants to help and count the seats in their section, any help would be great. I'll definitely be able to get the upper deck pretty easily.

Another one in Santa Monica on the pier. https://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2018/...rk-santa-monica-pier-advance-2018-home-opener
Yeah, I'm impressed by those. The one at the SM Pier sounds especially cool, along with the STM pick-up a StubHub. Kudos to the team on this one.
