Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) If PSV really is interested, then he should oblige them by all means. I'm shocked that he still has a lot of suitors in top-flight leagues. Rangers has become the posterchild for clubs in financial and sporting ruin and yet DMB was almost completely frozen out out of the lineup.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) I know but why would he have to give the US citizenship to get the German one?
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) You had to be born a German-American with both nationalities for Germany to recognize your dual-nationality, otherwise you have to renounce your other nationality.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) IIRC technically in the US if, as an adult, you maintain citizenship in another country you are supposed to give up US citizenship (with some exceptions, like Israeli citizenship, again IIRC). Now I don't think the US actually pursues this... But maybe Germany has a similar rule and actually enforces it.

Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) Good luck to him. I was very excited when we signed him, particularly because at £700k I thought he'd be a snip. There's no doubt that the physicality of the SPL was not suited to him, but for all the gripes about that issue on BS, it should be remembered that the injury that has dogged him for the past three years or so was sustained against Stuttgart in Europe.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) Just wanted to say that Sidney Govou looks alot like Damarcus Beasley.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) In France people have noticed how Govou looks a lot like tennis player Gaël Monfils.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) I think they have similar big foreheads and the semi-fro. I probably don't see it because Monfils is tall.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) No it isn't. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1753.html
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) Beasley recieving interest from Nottingham Forest, West Brom, and Blackpool: http://www.soccer365.com/us_news/story_2710213958.php
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) Of the three clubs Blackpool is the one I'd least like to see him. I just think they are relegation bate and they will be a sinking ship right off the bat. WBA plays an attacking style which I like and one that DMB could strive in. Plus they are very capable of securing safety sooner than later in the BPL. Forest isn't a bad option at all. They flirted with promotion and nearly pulled it off in the play-offs losing 6-5 (maybe 6-4??) in exciting draw with Blackpool. Forest are poised for promotion and pick-ups like DMB could greatly help.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) um, Beaz needs to move out of great britain and regain his form in germany or holland. He deserves more than relegation battlers, although he might see the most playing time there
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) WAT? Germany would be horrible. That would be the last league I would ever want him to join. He would become worse going to Germany because of the phhysicality. The Bundesliga and the Eridivisie are not very similar technically. I would love to see him rejoin PSV. He supposedly want to stay in the UK though and if thats the case, WBA would be nice.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) I must protest the moving of Beasley talk to this thread. He is technically not at Rangers anymore.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) He already plays in Scotland and has played in the EPL. Bundesliga is physical, but it's nowhere near as brutal as either of those. It's not as if there aren't thugs in the Eredivisie.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) its amazing what a lack of respect some people have for the german league. so many talented players....beasely wouldnt have shot at starting at many of the clubs there.
Re: Damarcus Beasley at Rangers(R) I don't think anyone was knocking the Bundesliga. We equate the Bundesliga style to Germany's style: fast and physical. Just like Rainer said though, its not near as brutal as the SPL and EPL, but do we really want Beaz going anywhere that is characterized as "physical" anymore? Schalke was looking for him, so saying "beasely wouldnt have shot at starting at many of the clubs there" is a bit harsh. In form (and healthy), Beasley could be very dangerous down the wing. IMO, I'd love to see him land in Ligue 1 or head back to the Eredivisie.
