Well they keep saying Shenhua + United = new Shenhua, so then 2+7=9th is where we will finish! haha

Well fark me, Adelaide lost :( Still a decent performance and good reffing. The Play acting by the Shandong players almost made me jump out the window though. No one on our team was willing to shoot until Veart and Giraldi came on.

Considering the happenings of the past month though and our injury list I thought it was a good performance, even if it was an unwanted result.

Yeah, stop trolling in a thread about AFC Champions League. Do I see Beijing's qualification? No.

You shouldn't feel that bad. Shandong is Manchester United of the CSL.

You are an Arsenal fan, right? :D

actually no, considering Dalian won more titles, Dalian is probably more worthy of that praise.

I mean the last few years. Shandong, like Manchester United of the 90s, are pulverizing their opposition and fielding a lot of young players, e.g. Zhou Haibin, Cui Peng, Han Peng, Wang Yongpo, etc.

A great result for FC. From a team in a major rebuilding and a new coach with only 2 practice matches with State League clubs, done very well.
The team will grow in confidence now we have had one competitive game under our belt.
The first half we dominated with great flowing football, second half many players were tired with having several playing in Iran only days before and then back to Sydney and flying in on Tuesday.

Now for the Reds, that will be a tough game, but at home with the Cove in Voice we could grab a draw. A Win would be fantastic, but they are a club that has been stable and are playing well.

    :) :)

see, if your team beat Shenhua last year, i would be forced to give you full credit. However, you caught Shenhua in a turmoil. There's a merger with another team and the squad is going through political struggles. More than half of the starting 11 are from another team that finished 7th in the league last year. Nevertheless, a loss is a loss. :(

I can assure you that sydney have been in turmoil also. their first match with a new coach, key players missing, their first match in asian competition.

also the fact that the wages on 1 or 2 of your players would cover the ENTIRE salary of the Sydney team.

now i hate sydney to death, but even i have to admit that they have done great

shenhua played very bad in the 1st half, horrible attack and horrible defence. On the other hand, the 2nd half Shenhua played very well I think at least in the way they attack. But the result is still bad. But seeing Wang Dalei and Du wei played is important to me since i am their fans. But would be good if Gao lin was playing too.

I am horrfied that Shenhua lost to a crappy club team from ASEAN. I am ashamed of this. Only Shandong will advance the next round. This is all the fault of the merger. Stupid united.

Shenhua is just being Shenhua. There's no shame in just being yourself. :D

    Where is Dalian?

be quiet man, if it were for the stupid merger, we would kill this stupid Indonesian team. The freakin players from United are pulling the team down.

Dalian is not even in AFC

Since this Shenhua team is not the one that earned the berth to play, maybe Dalian should have taken their place instead.
