vs. We are the last match of the round so we'll have pressure no matter the earlier results - pressure to keep pace or pressure to retake the pole position.
I just saw the topic and wanted to post this I'm imagining the scenario, winning 5-6:0 at Palace, going into the last match tied with City, and scoring against Newcastle goal after goal after goal after goal... news comming in at Etihad, the faces of their supporters and the silence and disbelief. Sounds impossible, but... it's a Liverpool way, ain't it? http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...n-championships-7047798#.U1-XYgf3Gyw.facebook Note that the 1947 title came after a 24 years drought!
Got to win both games and big. I'm pretty certain that neither team is going to roll over for us. Don't want Everton to roll over either. Me nervous, cause I'm not nervous why in the hell would you even think that I'm nervous. Might have to double up on my beta blockers but I'm definitely not nervous. Phtttt!!
This is when we show our strength. This is the time where we must show our resolve to never give up. This is where we show our Character. Y N W A
Making sure the players aren't mentally "hungover" from that result last weekend will be a big ask of Rodgers and Co. Hope the players are ready to shake it off and just give it their best go and know the chips will fall where they may.
once we won the city match, my manic anxiety about us winning the title washed away. i knew we were going to win it. that feeling has not left me despite our last result. i think everton is going to do us a favor. they've got to be good for something, right? this all may look very silly in three weeks time. but, i'm keeping the faith. that said, let's win this 10-0 and not have to rely on anyone but ourselves.
Lots of injuries for Everton, plus Barry can't play against City. They'll want to win to stay ahead of Spurs for the Europa League place. I wonder if getting tons of goals to get the GD passed anyone's mind... I'd imagine what kind of positive shock that would make on the players if Brendan suggested them to go out and win each game by 7-8 goals difference. Newcastle, in all honesty, wouldn't be that hard to beat by a huge difference. Palace would be tough, but still, like I've said in a previous post... that is the Liverpool way
It's time to refocus and pick our targets again...All LFC can do is win the next game...so Palace is in the crosshairs...BR needs to figure out how to set the team to get an early goal and keep the foot on the accelerator...don't let up...win this by four goals or more...and attack, the way Liverpool can
I was at that match, so you know, the superstitious ones amongst you should fly me into London next Monday!
I know I'll be glued to the TV on Saturday, giving Everton all the positive vibes I can muster. Winning by 5,6,7 ... I dunno about that...let's just win. Watching the CL semis brings a smile on my face - thinking about next season already
We just need someone to step up. Against Chelsea we had plenty of shots that could of scored but nobody had the quality that day to put the ball in the back of the net. If somebody is on and we get the early goal I think everyone will start clicking and we might see a 4 or 5 goal win.
I agree - early goal is key. Score early and score often! Come on you Reds! I'm looking for goal from all the SSS's - Sterling to lead the way...
Yes, this... I was depressed for the rest of the day after the Chelsea result, but by Monday I was okay with it. I was travelling this week and while flipping through the hotel TV channels they were playing the condensed replays on the NBCSN channel, and so I watched the replay of that match. We totally dominated the replays... it put the whole second half in a completely different light. Rodgers should show that to the team and convince them that they really could have/should have actually at least tied up that game. We play the same against the eagles and we'll wipe the floor with them...
