Prefer him to Oscar. Tho want younger options to start getting called.

The forgotten man played 90 minutes yesterday.

I have emphasized this before and will continue to. I feel most comfortable with him on the field if Mina is not healthy. Hopefully he continues to get minutes.

Yeah if no Mina I trust Zapata's experience above all else. He should be our 3rd choice CB and on top of that he's a good guy to have in the squad has played at a really high level and still does whenever called on.

    Cristian Zapata sighting today!

I think we found our partner for Davinson for the CA19.

Zapata’s experience and balanced/controlled style of play in a tournament setting will do Davinson more good than having a wildcard like Jeison and Zapata is a step up in quality over Oscar - who I think can still be reliable but for certain opponents.

I think it’s fair to say The common criticism about davinson at the NT level at times has been he had a CB partner who would essentially make him work overtime and be drawn out of position. Eventually, davinson will need to bring his CB partners to his level and be the Backline leader. Zapata would be a strong choice as a CB partner given his track record for the NT.

As much as I want to see Mina, the match fitness (and health) does not seem it will be there.

Then again, watch Mina show up in Brazil and drill 3 goals during the group stage - a scenario I am totally fine with :)

I don’t know if Mina is 70% healthy then I’d start him. His Ariel threat is too much to pass on

I feel like with the injuries and lack of form and potential omission of certain players, I have a feeling we are going to heading towards “grind city”

Mina needs to hit the weight room and get a lot of training in if the expectation is to play 3 group stage stage games in 9 days.

He has 40 days to prepare but given his track record over the past club season, I have a tough time accepting that he is ready to handle that kind of workload.
