There's also a question of how we are nurturing our academy players. Are we just teaching them how to play football or also how to be professionals and men? For example, there's tons of rumours that say William loves the night life and drinks a lot. Now look at a guy like Ronaldo, the consummate professional. Hopefully the next president takes a hard long look at the academy and puts in a system of not just educating footballers, but professionals as well. Here's a list of all the players that rescinded and what their current status is: Bas Dost - returned to SCP Bruno Fernandes - returned to SCP Battaglia - free agent, rumoured to be returning Ruben Ribeiro - free agent Rafael Leao - free agent Gelson - free agent, does not want to return William - former captain, sold to Betis Patricio - former captain, signed for Wolves for free, possible litigation? Podence - signed for Olympiakos for free, possible litigation? What do we see here - the players that returned or rumoured to return are all players that have been here 1-2 years, while the players that don't want to return are all academy products (individual cases vary of course).
I totally get what you're saying, but ultimately, the player needs to sign. No one is putting a gun to a players head, at least I hope not. Without players signature, there's no contract. They have a say before they sign.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are promised to be sold if they sign a new contract to be honest. It gives the clubs a lot more negotiating power to have a longer term contract. Theoretically its a win-win, but communication or something is falling apart somewhere.
I'm sure the players are promised the world, but man, business 101 is protect your own @SS. This is were players need to have certain things in writing.
Agreed. They players probably think they can trust the club they literally grew up in, but it is a business and you should have it in writing. This policy hasnt been working for Sporting though. Sell em while theyre still young like benfica does. We need to try something new.
Allegedly BdC sent text messages to the players individually before the Setubal match and signed it off with "Sincerely, Your President". Only an article on Record, doesn't have any picture proof, but the article says that the messages were personalized with the players names in case they were leaked to the press.
^^ To add to the above, BdC himself confirmed that he sent the messaged, saying it was "out of respect and because he missed the players". Also the interim board today said they are suing BdC for today trying to freeze the club's bank accounts. However the banks didn't do what he asked. So in the last few days: 1. Attempted to storm into the club installations and had to be escorted out by police. 2. Tried to destabilize the players with text messages with unknown content just before a game (some of the players were visibly below par in the last game, this could be a factor). 3. Tried to freeze the club's bank accounts. What else does he need to do to get expelled from the club?
This could constitute as fraud. Posing as someone your not to make decisions on someone else's finances.
This man needs doctors and a hospital right away. Its not even funny anymore. He is broken. Incredible how much damage one individual can do to an established institution. Worst thing thats ever happened to this club bar none.
This guy I think pretty much sums up what everyone's thinking. EDIT: I can't seem to post YouTube links, is this a new thing?
Yea cuz this dude is absolutely trash. All these Portuguese players think they're hot shit. Bunch of morons.
Varandas reportedly staying back in Lisbon instead of travelling with the team to Ukraine because he is trying to strike a deal for Atletico and Wolves to pay us for Gelson and Patricio respectively. Varandas wants an injection of money immediately
Report is we turned down 20 mil for Patricio? That is nuts.....I know we don't get all the money because an agent will take 7 mil but that is not the Wolves issue. How much do they think Patricio is worth?
Patricio has been one of the best goalkeepers so far in the Premier League. I think we're playing with that to jack up the fee. As for Gelson, he's barely had minutes at Atletico. If we can get 30M for him I'd be happy, especially if it's money that comes into the club right away. I have a feeling Gelson is going to end up getting loaned out like Joao Mario has been at Inter.
Ex-staff member Bruno Jacinto was arrested in relation to the May 15th invasion by hooligans who physically assaulted players at the clubs training ground. His staff role was liaison to the club supporters. He is being accused of knowing about the attack beforehand, allegedly getting a phone call 15 minutes before the attack warning that Juve Leo elements were going to talk to the players and doing nothing about it. Allegedly this person also allowed that infamous blue BMW to escape, containing ex-Juve Leo leader Fernando Mendes. Bruno Jacinto was still working at the club, until allegedly being let go on Monday by SCP. One other unnamed person was arrested.
Record and Abola saying we struck a deal for Patricio with Wolves. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same deal we had before, although I'm hoping with his good performances in the Premier League so far we get a little more, I'm not optimistic.
