Agreed. He looks a little unsure when he gets into certain positions but I suspect that will smooth out. I like his engine and attitude. It isn’t hard to see why GB spent money to bring him in and make him a starter on day 1. There is going to be some growing pains but he is a real gem.
http://www.dispatch.com/sports/20180310/michael-arace--many-ways-to-interpret-size-of-crew-scs-crowd “I can see the Crew staying at or near the top of the Eastern Conference and building a bandwagon as the weather warms. The bandwagon has been filled before, many times.” I think the wagon is more of a train. Maybe just this season it is a hype train.
'member when we slagged on the carny for artificially boosting attendance and they said that 13891 was really 15792 because of "tickets distributed" or whatever? At least that made sense. If you're gonna lie about attendance, boost it.
This was the first game I took my son to. I’m not gonna lie, I got a bit misty eyed during the national anthem thinking that this may be the last opening game I’ll get to take my son to and he probably won’t even remember it. (He will be three at the end of this month). So, I’m officially on the Zardes hype train. If he continues to score, he will be seeing more time with the Nats. We looked a lot better earlier on when we were quicker countering. Those first 25 minutes were impressive. I was impressed with Martinez and Lalas. I look forward to seeing more of those two.
I think I counted 10 or so various "******** you Precourt" chants to come from the Nordecke. First one was in the 4th minute - didn't take long...
I did in fact quip to you that I'd never before seen standing pools of water with algae growing in them and it looked to me like maintenance efforts had ceased or at least been scaled back. The stadium looked dirty and unkempt. I avoided the bathrooms in the stadium. Anyone note their condition? Was it better or worse than prior years when the complaint was always no paper towels or TP way too early to make sense?
I saw something really exciting at the stadium! A 200 Ft banner facing I-70. It reads, “FOR COLUMBUS”. Isn’t that wonderful!!!!
Brummie is a dummy on attendance. No way we had 15k with the 2nd level almost empty and the west stands not close to full. I guestimated 12k at the game. Even with the STH card malfunctions and shenanigans, 11k is in the ballpark.
It took mine a couple of scans to take--but it did. Issues with the scanners, I was told. But who knows. I know that I'm not going to be yelling at the ticket takers though. Not their fault.
If it was facing I-70, that's a bit of a ways off.... Also, I wonder if the press in Montreal noted that O'Canada was sung in English. In Montreal, that's an insult. I recall us doing the Roger Doucet version (a mix of English and French) in the past--and likely the one Leo will do tonight when the Jackets play the Habs.
My cards scanned correctly, first time. This singer doesn’t do it in French, he’s been there for Montreal before. In Montreal, they can hire whoever they want, but elsewhere, I think they take what they get.
