Garber: "Bla bla bla I'm a castrated elephant. Look at my giant ears! Empty words, fake news, lies and horse poop coming out of my mouth."

Note to self: sometime next year take a LONG walk around the stadium site scoping out parking, restaurants and bars. It has tons of potential, but what you don't know can definitely hurt you.
It's one thing to say you're going to do something, but another to actually do it in public with eyes on you.
The groundbreaking was honestly a nicely planned event that, if anything, felt tooooo crowded. Lines for food, merch, and photo ops merged together in a kind of messy way. But it was well staffed and there was lots of parking direction. It had the feeling of there being more people than anticipated. As I was driving away I had the sensation that if, on game day, you park around normal 'blue jackets' lots, you'll have to walk a couple enjoyable blocks, passing Betty's and other restaurants along a kind of scenic newly-laid brick surrounding. The March into the stadium will be fun. Also thought the fans showed the right balance of restraint and disrespect toward Don Garber. Guy is ********ing tool to suggest we'd share beers in the future. And Zach F*cking Steffan was there. Saw him up close as I was walking out. What a dude.
He tapped me on the shoulder to get my ********ing attention so I could shake his hand. What a great guy. And what a mother********ing great event. Re: Garber, because we all seem so tight-assed about that aspect of the program, it was fine. And, IMHO, Martino was the perfect MC to address yet smooth over the elephant in the living room. I saw the Commish up close (it wasn't hard), and he sure as hell seemed relaxed and glad to be there from what I saw. Was about to head to the post-event VIP shin-dig, but then saw Dante Washington and they bullshitted for 5 minutes. Everyone was in a great mood. ******** it. We won. Had a nice chat with Onstad. He's always just standing there with no one around him. Said Room is amazing in the locker room, FWIW. And Dee seems like someone you'd bump into in an airport bar, who'd start the conversation as she saw you reading texts from your family; where you'd each kill an hour waiting for your flights, talking about where you're from, your kids. And you'd never know she's worth a bazillion dollars.
Okay- I thought I saw him. I know he is the US for national team duty, and they are training in DC so it's possible, but I thought there was no way that was actually him. Now I wish I had said hello.
Dear Kyle, When you have a beer and discourse with Garber, can you ask him why the Crew needed a stadium downtown yet Nashville and Austin's are further away than we where? How about the Revs playing pretty much nowhere near Boston? Hell, how about NYFC playing in Yankee Stadium and the Fire playing once more in Soldier Field? Why are our feet held to the fire and others are allowed to shit on the rules? Thanks. A concerned fan.
Brighter from Obscurity The past two year have been hell but we are significantly better off now that in any time since Lamar gave up the reigns. Dee and Dr. Pete are the real deal and the new stadium (never had a personal issue with original) is going to be a masterpiece.
