Honestly I think we win . I could see us upsetting Atlanta again but most likely they will kill us unless we play at a higher level than normal while they miss opportunity after opportunity. The best team doesn’t always win but their defense is clearly inferior to ours and our attacking quality in the final third is nowhere near ours. But anything can happen a few shots of the post could go either way that’s what makes this sport so great.
We should be rooting for Citeh and Salt Lake like crazy. I do not want a turf game of any sort. And we do not match up well with ATL (despite last year's PO result). I do not fear any of the 3 teams out west, but on our day I think we can take them. Would root for the SKC/RSL winner to take out Portland. No turf.
I absolutely love the level of “getting ahead of ourselves” being shown by a board as routinely pessimistic as this one.
So pessimistic we insisted the Crew would be saved for a good long while, IIRC. But on this issue: 1) The other two games are first. We play last. Gotta root for someone. Might as well be the team that helps us the most. Beyond that, there are some reasons for optimism: 1) We have not lost to NYRB this year. 2) We just beat them on 2 days rest with Pipa on the bench for 45. 3) If we score one, they need three. Or if you prefer: Just in case the infinitesimal possibility of a Crew advancement actually plays out (despite being up 1-0), it sure would be nice if we had a more favorable matchup for the ECF and still had a chance to host MLS Cup. It probably won't matter since we are eternally cursed and will never win anything again, but just in case, go RSL! Happy? Or don't you do happy?
Dude... I've already made my feelings known in this thread that I think we're advancing. I'm not complaining about the optimism -- I'm just surprised by it.
Definitely. Given the way the other semifinals have gone, it would be nice if the last one was a boring 0:0 affair.
You know what time it is. 🖤💛Tonight’s #CrewSC Starting XI vs. @NewYorkRedBulls#ClaimGlory | #RBNYvCLB | #MLSCupPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/8jncVF7GzQ— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) November 11, 2018 Sauro and Mensah starting. The rest is predictable.
So is the stadium holding the sound in or is the supporter section mic’d better this week versus last?
More variables than that, I'm afraid, but Columbus being known to swear (a lot) may have also been an issue.
