Why does MARSHALL take the indirect free kick inside the penalty box? That seems like a bonehead move. Surely someone could have tapped to Guille. Early on the defense looks terrible.
Offsides against DeRo --- talk about bonehead. Jeez. Should be at LEAST 1-0 Houston by now, in the 13th minute.
All Houston does is just launch the ball at our central defenders and we can't handle it. We don't win the first ball or the second ball. What the EFF is going on?
I can't watch the game, but from what I'm reading, it sounds like a NYRBesque start. Hopefully it doesn't take them 25 minutes to realize they're playing a game...
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!! Well Houston fubbed that corner, that's for sure. Amazing we're winning 1-0! Marshall was good on that header.
These dumb stats drive me nuts. "Teams that score first this season are 23-0-6." What does that mean exactly? The laws of physics have been suspended for the year? Is there any value whatever in that stat?
McDermott is talking out of both sides of his mouth. One the one hand we hear how hopeless it is for Houston to send long balls into the box, because of Marshall ---- and yet we also can't afford to give Houston dead ball opportunities because of Ching. I'm confused.
The Crew boys said they were going to make the stadium their fortress and they are showing that. Lots of heart there against a very good Houston team.
We need to start limiting their chances and creating some more of our own. When we do get forward, we've looked pretty good, but I feel like Houston has exerted more influence over this game than we have. That goal was an example of perseverance. Marshall had a great header, then kept alive by Moffat (I think), and Ale finishes it for his fourth goal of the season.
