Yeah actually that isn't bad when you give the crowd example. Talk to the FO and get it done. But, leave it "you" don't change it to "crew." That would be incredibly tacky and lame. Like changing "you'll never walk alone," to "reds never walk alone," or something. Doesn't sound right. Yellow is a good enough relation that you don't have to throw Crew in there. If you want to throw Crew in there then you mise well fit in some Crewzer and Hejduk references too while were at it.
This song is great, I say someone makes a poll out of this and the winner we take to the FO. My vote is for "Road Out Side Columbus" the video kinda sucks but it gets the idea across Other than the fact that is a video about how awesome Columbus is and how all our friends are here and such, its by a local band.
Despite my normal distaste for anything Coldplay I agree that Yellow would work quite well, and many people already know the song so it would be easier to get started.
I think we need a thread with a poll for what should be our Anthem. So far the choices are Yellow, "Fools rush in", Supermassive Black Hole.... am I forgetting any? I cant start threads because of my card
I'm liking "yellow" the more I hear the 1:30 mark part. Someone with a printer should print off a bunch of lyrics and we can try to give it a go. I vote for keeping the you's you's. Along with "Fools Rush In" if we sing that as a chant this week.

This is going to be hard to do, but when we pull it off it will be SPECIAL. we need to get this done. We should print out lyrics sheets and make sure 103 and HSH are on the same page and try to talk LTA into it. Yellow is such a beautiful song and this would be transcendent if we could sing this. We NEED FO support on this. If they play it on the PA it would help immensely

If the Coldplay song doesn't catch on, what about the Beatles' (though I much prefer Joe Cocker's version) "A Little Help From My Friends"? It's a song that works for supporters, I think. Plus most people know the tune, if not the words.
Hey Crew fans I'm new to this forum but a Crew fan way out here in Colorado. I get Direct Kick so I can see every game and I must say Nordecke is the best place in the entire league. I agree with Yellow being the Anthem it's perfect especially the line" For You I bleed myself dry" Thats perfect for the best supporters in MLS. Also if you guys could pull it off and sing the song on Thuesday night on ESPN 2 I bet it would make a hugh impact and who know's might make the top 10 on Sportscenter. Chorus is intuitive, and repeats often. No long intrumental interludes. Easy to sing when you're drunk. High Spontaneous Join-in Quotient. Good message, reminiscent of "You'll Never Walk Alone". It's emotion-inducing. It's a happy song. Builds camaraderie. Either "I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends" or "Yellow" would both work, and would be *immensely* helped by being played over the loudspeaker. Is a Crew Anthem without overhead loudspeaker play viable? With overhead play either could be very powerful.
Yellow or nothing. It's as if Mr. Martin wrote it for us in a Nostradamus moment. Look at the stars, look how they shine for you (obviously a prediction of GBS coming to the Crew) This is the song that we need. Fcuk it I'll learn it on guitar and bring my acoustic with me if that's what it takes...
