    32/1 Round:

    Colmar (CFA2) v Monaco (L1)
    Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (CFA) v Calais (CFA)
    Châteauroux (L2) v Sochaux (L1)
    Paris-Saint-Germain (L1) v Auxerre (L1)
    Ajaccio AC (L1) v Lyon (L1)
    Rennes (L1) v Lens (L1)
Bastia SC (L2) v Agde (CFA)
    Brest Stade (L2) v Amiens (L2)
    Lorient (L2) v Lille (L1)
    Bois-Guillaume (CFA) v Nantes (L1)
Vitré AS (CFA) v Caen (L2) or Longuenesse (PH)
    Lyon-Duchère (CFA) v Strasbourg (L1)
Bordeaux (L1) v Entente SSG (National)
    Dijon (L2) v Moulins (National)
Montpellier Hérault (L2) v Roye (CFA)
    Marseille (L1) v Metz (L1)

A bit of revenge is in the air for us as we take on the holders who dumped us out last year and in the final in 2003. Lyon-Duchere who knocked out Toulouse in the last round take on Strasbourg at home.

There is an all CFA tie as Sainte-Geneviève take on Calais, the surprise finalists of 2000. Lyon travel to Ajaccio.

Hmm...you mean 22 domestic regional leagues? Which of these are DOM, TOM and why did you only list 19 of these in your first post?

And about the additional non-domestical regional leagues: I can't find them listed at fff.fr; do you know them?

Vitré AS (CFA) v Longuenesse (PH)

Caen disqualified as of article 21:7 about reserve line-ups.
Article states that you must start with at least 7 players who participated in your last two games. Caen used 6.
As they use to say; never underestimate your opponent...

    1/16-finalists divided as follows:
    lvl 1: 14
    lvl 2: 7 <----
    lvl 3: 2
    lvl 4: 7 <----
    lvl 5: 1
    lvl 7: 1

An equal amount of lvl 2 as of lvl 4

    2004/05; 1/16-finalists:
    lvl 1: 15
    lvl 2: 5 <----
    lvl 3: 3
    lvl 4: 5 <----
    lvl 5: 2
    lvl 6: 2

    Same pattern here...

I don't have any data from previous seasons so I can't really run a thesis but I find it quite remarkable. Coincidence or is it something with the draw procedure that I don't know of.

Indeed. Caen thrashed Longuenesse in the 1st leg but didn't play one of their regular starters as is requested by the FFF. They contested it on the basis of injuries, Longuenesse kicked up a fuss and the FFF ruled in their favour.

Longuenesse still have no chance against oppenents closer to their league - and the whole thing is farcial.

    ????

DOM and TOM have a seperate league and qualification process. I don't have them.

I don't understand. Again if you mean the DOM and TOM leagues - I don't have them.

Lyon La Duchere have once again knocked off a Ligue 1 opponent 5-4 on penalties against Strasbourg.

The Chateauroux-Sochaux encounter was suspended in the 53rd minute due to a snow storm

Strasbourg appointed a new fitness coach :

Next step : THE GUILLOTINE  !

This game should have been a 5-0 victory for us, we hit the post at least four times and Nehmet had an opportunity a 7 years old schoolboy playing during recess with chalk drawn goals and a tennis ball would have put in.

i was watching the psg auxerre (wish my hometown boy pauleta could have had a little more luck with that shot) hilights and was wondering why psg was wearing adidas uniforms with no team logo. does every team have to wear adidas for cup games? is this new? thanks.

yes, all teams must wear adidas kits for the CdF. it's the same for the coupe gambardella and the challenge de france (women's cup), the other national competitions organized by the federation.

i believe, but don't quote me:

    - that the jerseys are provided by adidas to the federation and distributed to the teams for free.

    - they're only available in red, white or blue, so sometimes you'll see clubs playing in strange colors (except for the L1 teams who get jerseys resembling their normal kit).

a good joke on me? i almost went to gerland last night by accident...

my wife called me at work telling me not to come home late because the kids had lots of homework, and there was the match, too...

when i get home she talks about all the CRS she saw going by gerland... funny, i think, OL-Bastia shouldn't be that hot... only when i'm ready and i get my ticket out does it dawn on me that she'd jumped to conclusions... the riot cops were for the Lyon Duchère match!

better than what happened for OL-monaco this year: they changed the time and we showed up late, missing the first 10 minutes and the ceremonial pre-match kebab... think of the sinking feeling you get heading to gerland on a metro train with no other supporters!

You could still have turned up though. ;)

Still would have looked funny with your Lyon scarf and shirt on.... lol. :D

This game was pushed forward due to Lyon's game with Bastia.

So is there another draw now, or is it Marseille-Rennes and Lyon-Nantes?
