Auxerre were woeful, it wasn't for the Paris defence losing it for one moment and then mentally collapsing we would be in the QF's.

    mais, c'est la vie!

Allez Monaco! The only non-French team left!

All true. With such a (relatively) small club, he's doing an
    incredible job.

Yeah, they were amateur team when he took over.

It was that youth cup winning side that most people remember.

    Merci Forgeron. :)

I think ASM have their name stamped on this now. Might go to the final if they get there.

Nantes v Auxerre should decide the other finalist. I would hate to see a final played between a Ligue 1 side and one from Ligue 2. Then France may have wasted a european spot, like Chateauroux getting slammed in the UEFA Cup.

For me, an ideal final would be:

    Monaco v Auxerre

Is the Coupe de France on the same level as the English FA Cup? Or do Ligue 1 clubs not care as much about hoisting this trophy?

    Thanks.

Pretty important to them, but usually you see more shocks and suprises in the French cup then you do in England. Penalties and ET with no replay does help of course.

I'd rather see Nantes in the final because they have a lot more supporters than Auxerre does.

But they play the better football. And besides, Auxerre will bring thousands of fans, just like ASM, who normally take the entire South coast up to the capital, like when they won the League Cup a few seasons back.

In my opinion, Monaco will win the cup unless they play Auxerre in the semi-finals. Something i noticed : Nîmes (National = 3rd division) hasn't lost one single cup match inthe last 20 years on their pitch (and they were often in D2 or National during all that time). It won't be easy for Sochaux!

    Boulogne beat Nantes 3-2 yesterday!

Therefore, Monaco, Auxerre and Sochaux are the last teams of L1 in competition.

    Boulogne-sur-mer (CFA) - Auxerre
    Sedan (L2) - Grenoble (L2)
    Monaco - Clermont (L2)
    Nîmes (Nat) - Sochaux.

Monaco v. Clermont just went into overtime (0-0).

Could they be beaten in penalties like Lyon???

Good to see Monaco go through. We need at least one large club in the final.

Didn't see this one. Was gonna watch it, but I got side-tracked.

Look's as if I've missed or am missing an absolute cracker.

    Nimes (Nat) 3-3 Sochaux (L1)
    [Chavas 23, Yamissi 72, Kande 77; Kader 27, 39, Ilan 57]

    In Extra-time.

Great fight back by Nimes though.

    Incredible.

Mattias Verschave scores and Nimes go 4-3 in front.

    Another 2 goal comeback!

All four ties go to ET

Boulogne sur Mer looked to ahve another shock on their hands when Ehouman scored 14 minutes from time. Stefan Grichting scores in the last minute to send it to extra-time.

Pieroni puts the away side in front.

    Boulogne-sur-mer (CFA) 1-2 Auxerre (L1) [aet]
    [Ehouman 76; Gritching 90, Pieroni 97]
