Timor-Leste is officially off the list having playing their first match in the AFF Women's Championship. Timor-Leste lost 17-0 to Myanmar.
still no update on this tournament set to start in a month, FUFA has already received confirmation from the hosts Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Sudan. Kenya will use the competition to prepare for their debut at the Africa Nations Cup finals in Cameroon, November. Namibia, Zimbabwe and Malawi football federations have requested to compete in the inaugural CECAFA Women Championships due in Kampala in September. Should be a twelve team tournament if all three non-CECAFA members are allowed to participate plus adding in a team like Eritrea or Djibouti. http://www.newvision.co.ug/new_visi...zimbabwe-malawi-eye-cecafa-women-championship exact dates for the tournament are Sept. 11 - 24.
the CECAFA women's championship supposedly starts in 2 weeks, but there's still very little info on it. Only know of the 8 confirmed teams. No fixtures announced, no word if the three non-CECAFA teams are playing.

thank you. A shame neither Sudan or South Sudan are participating. I wonder why they didn't let any of the non-CECAFA members in(Namibia, Zimbabwe, Malawi)? Is Zanzibar a FIFA-member?
Zanzibar does have a football association, but is not affiliated to FIFA or CAF (according to CAF's website; Zanzibar is also not listed among CAF association's on FIFA's website).
Burundi played a friendly against Tanzania today. Lost 3-0 http://allafrica.com/stories/201609080942.html
That friendly of Tanzania vs. Burundi was originally on FIFA's fixtures & results page but has since been removed. Anyone know why? http://www.fifa.com/live-scores/int...fixtures-results/women/index.html#month9-2016

Turkmenistan and Tajikistan playing in CAFA U19 Championship. http://ffkr.kg/zhenskaya-molodezhna...imet-uchastie-v-turnire-cafa-womens-cup-u-19/
youth teams don't count. Full national teams must play a FIFA sanctioned friendly. Though Tajikistan is expected to participate in the next AFC Women's Cup.
Tajikistan is now confirmed for the AFC Women's Cup qualifiers in April. The CAFA U-19 tournament that was held back in October had Turkmenistan withdraw.
The Oman Women’s National Team is all set to have a camp ahead of it’s first International Tournament. Last week, The OFA Board approved their participation in the Gulf Cup – which will be held in Bahrain during March, 2017. In order to be better equipped and trained for the camp – coach Muneera Ali Humaid and her squad of 12 Players are taking part in the first ever camp being held by the Women’s National Team between 2-11th February. http://www.ofa.om/women’s-team-have-camp-ahead-first-international-tournament
Tajikistan officially played its first match today. A 1-1 draw against Kyrgyzstan. The teams are scheduled to play again on Friday in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Cape Verde Islands & Gambia set to play each other in a friendly on Sept. 5 in Banjul, Gambia. Cape Verde Islands also set to play Sao Tome y Principe on Aug. 22. Sao Tome y Principe haven't played a match since 2002.
Turkmenistan is playing in the Asian Indoor Games(futsal tournament). Futsal matches are recognized by FIFA as official matches, so are they off the list now? Turkmenistan lost 6-1 in the opening match to Hong Kong. Probably the only reason they're participating is due to the fact they're the host.
4/7/2018 UPDATE Gambia now off the list having played against Burkina Faso today in the 2018 African Women's Cup qualifiers. Montserrat is scheduled to participate in the 2018 Caribbean Challenge Cup. UEFA (2) Liechtenstein San Marino CAF (6) Cape Verde Chad Mauritania Somalia South Sudan Sudan AFC (7) Brunei Cambodia Mongolia Oman Saudi Arabia Turkmenistan Yemen CONCACAF (4) Bonaire Montserrat Saint Martin Sint Maarten OFC (2) Niue Tuvalu
As we learnt especially with African tournaments, "being scheduled" is not the same as "playing". So you wisely don't remove them from the list!
Is this even a nation? A federation, probably, but not an independent country as far as I know. What about them?
I know they're an official CONCACAF member, but weren't a FIFA member as of 2016. Not sure if that situation has changed. It is a "constituent country" of the Kingdom of the Netherlands - as are Aruba and Curacao, though those two are FIFA members. I think it's similar to how Martinique relates to France, or similar (but noticeably less so) to how Puerto Rico relates to the USA.
