seeing as we're in a new thread for the year now, i didn't want this to be lost in last years thread (seeing as it is current!)

He seems to have the opposite problem to Carlos! Though in Carlos' defence, he's not the sprint the length of the pitch kind of player - he's very quick over 5 meters, enough to get a step or two of space and to get a pass or shot off. the weight also helps him ride the bumps as well, and there's a lot of them down here!

and yes, we're also still amazed he wasn't called up...

i think most ppl's expectations aren't that he'll be another Carlos. Brisbane desperately need a play-maker after dumping Charlie Miller. I hope he can do enough with what little time is left in the season to perhaps earn a contract for next season. He seems like a good fellow, going by his first interview.

Yeah Steven Bryce seems like a cool doode...and he was an excellent player at one point...but his injuries really slowed him down. He has never been a playmaker or a "10" type of player...but he was really good playing on the wing and having quite a few goals and assist with both the Costa Rican NT and Alajuelense. I wish him the best and hope he can do great in Australia...but i'm almost positive he's done as a player (I hope he can prove me wrong though:D)

Carlos with a goal and an assist, marvin angulo with an excellent game and an assist (tiring legs denied him a goal towards the end) in melbourne's 4-0 win over wellington last night.

he took one, though went into the wall of defenders. b/w him and carlos, we're set for free kicks. how are his corners? carlos takes them from the left, but the player who takes them on the other side is not so good...

U-20 Left Back Bryan Oviedo has signed a 3 year deal with Danish powerhouse FC Copenhagen.
    http://encuentrodeportivocr.com/ind...futbol-de-dinamarca&catid=51:otros&Itemid=171

I think Bryan Oviedo should have waited because he showed in the U-20 WC and last night against Argentina that he should definitely be in a league like EPL, Serie A, or La Liga....but of course Costa Rica has the worst agents in the world....but FC Copenhagen isn't a bad club and i think they are still in the Europa League. Hope he earns playing time and can get better because Oviedo has to be our starting LB for now on.

That's 2 players of our U-20 team that have made a move to Europe....hope more can follow Alvarado and Oviedo because our local league sucks! Roy Smith seems to be close to making a move to Poland since he has impressed so far in his trial....hopefully after last night Estrada, Gamboa, Madrigal, and Urena gain interest after their solid performances.

I think he can still play for Costa Rica as long as he isn't called up to Germany NT....but since its only the U-19 team he is still eligible to play for Costa Rica.

According to Cadena Ser of Spain...Espanyol, Real Zaragoza, and Villarreal of Spain are interested in Bryan Ruiz for next season.
    http://encuentrodeportivocr.com/ind...-en-bryan-ruiz&catid=40:bryan-ruiz&Itemid=180

I think Bryan Ruiz should wait for a team like Sevilla to pick him up....I also don't know if these teams can pay the 15 Million euros minimum FC Twente will be asking for.

Joel Campbell along with 2 other U-18 Saprissa players will be trying out with 4 French clubs according to French agent Joaquim Batica who was responsible for Minor Escoe signing with FC Lorient.

Our interim coach mentioned 4 players names that play abroad that will most likely be called up for our friendly against Chile and Zorro was one of them:cool:.

I'm guessing either he isn't really good or was unfairly ignored in the MLS Draft.

Carlos Hernandez wins the Johnny Warren medal for best player of the A-League 2009-2010 season.

Minor Escoe debuts with French club FC Lorients U-19 team in their 1-0 win.
    http://encuentrodeportivocr.com/ind...veniles-del-lorient&catid=51:otros&Itemid=171

Hope Minor Escoe does well and is called up for the U-23 team in the near future.

U-20 Left Back Bryan Oviedo was called up for FC Copenhagen's Europa League match against French side Olympique de Marseille for the first leg!
    http://encuentrodeportivocr.com/ind...r-la-liga-de-europa&catid=51:otros&Itemid=171

Don't know if Oviedo will get any minutes in this match since he has only been there for a couple of weeks...but it's a good sign to see that he was called up for an important match!
