So far, IMO Szetela leaving hurts us the most, he was a tough player and a fan favorite. I thought Szetela would have inherited the captaincy if Mendes left or retired. We'll miss Lucky's high work rate, glad he will play in Europe at a higher level. Moffat was a loss but I think we can find a comparable centerback. Arangol & Orozco, we'll miss all those upfront scoring and chances created IMO, Arietta was 1 year contract and I didn't expect him to be re-signed. I didn't expect Ockford, Duk to continue their loan stints when the season ended. I know they are trying to get all players back, but I hope the focus is on re-signing (whilst eating humble pie) Maurer, Eskandarian, Diosa, Flores & Ayoze

We'll that makes 7 members of last years team moving on to a different team, Only three signed. We can speculate and wish for many different players, but I'm almost sure we all want Seba back, one, he's a very good player, two we need to take care of our own, help him through this injury and he will thrive under Geo, probably taking more of a main role in the team. Actually I thought David Diosa was going to benefit this year.... he probably will but not with us.

Carlos Mendes is back, now we have to sign Maurer, Zobek, Holt, Mulligan, Ayoze, McTurk, Flores, Bover, Guenzatti, and Mancini, try to have back Restrepo, sign back John Neeskens, buy Oniewu who trained last autumn with the team, add Kwame Watson-Siriboe, hire Muntari or Ledesma for the midfield, Berbatov and Stefano Pinho for the attack plus other two quick strikers one from center america and the other from Usa then secure a big sponsor, a big tv deal a new stadium and a huge marketing campaign for season tickets
Before you say Ronaldinho or Luca Toni, let us make it through 2017 and earn D2 next year, how about that? Let us expand the fan base and be a sustainable club.

About D2 status it's not up to the Cosmos, we need other 4 teams, Fort Lauderdale hopefully will come back in 2018, then there should be Chicago and San Diego, who could be the 4th franchise?
Really hope they sign Maurer. We need a familiar rock on the back line. Maurer has done enough to earn an MLS look. I guess Maurer question is: be a starter with the Cosmos or be a back up on an MLS team (and fight for the #1 slot). I could see Atlanta United offering Maurer a contract given Maurer is a Georgia Native
Maurer would be a must in my book, tough I wouldn't be surprised if an MLS team came calling. If we got him it would solidify our back line big time. Another player I would love to see beck is Flores, he's special going forward. I would also imagine some of the B team would get called up.

Zobeck is a capable backup (I think he is better than Holt). Still hoping for Maurer to re-sign! While we are at it, MCU park announcement please, I'm itching to buy a mini-plan!
considering Mix Diskerub seem to be soon to be cut from NYCFC why not hiring him for Cosmos midfield?
Flores re-signed. We can play 7 aside soccer with a sub available! I guess our pre-season is gonna be playing a lot local college teams and any 'year round' NPSL teams. I wonder is Seba is going to re-sign? (or will be offered a contract)
