I didn't comment after last nights game. The only good performances last night were Pino and Caceda. Caceda saved us from a thrashing and Pino looked competent and got the assist.
Forget the whole Venezuela vs Peru discussion, I think the 2 worst South American leagues at the moment are the Peruvian and the Chilean. At least the Venezuelans can be competitve. Peru and Chile do absolutely nothing continentally at club level. I think we top the bottom at the end of the day but Chile is a league which never gets discussed when talking about the worst in the continent.
Atletico Nacional go 1-0 up against Municipal. Nacional are as good as through, although have a very tough task in Bolivar in the next round.
Garcilaso goes through. It was hard to watch, Aucas looked liked they would equalize several times but Garcilaso did just enough. Hopefully Huancayo gets the job done tomorrow.
two teams into next round from four teams is about as much success as we are going to have in this cup
Huancayo should go furthest. I can't see them losing to Anzoategui. If Huancayo win I believe they take in Jorge Wilstermann or Sol de America. The Paraguayans hate playing in altitude and the Bolivians aren't all that especially if you present them another team from altitude. In the round of 16 they will meet Bolivar or Atletico Nacional. I really hope it's Bolivar. As for Garcilaso, they might be able to beat Palestino but I don't think they can beat Libertad. I had them as going out as soon as I found out they were playing in Arequipa. I think this is as far as they go. They looked very disorganized.
Detras del Sport Boys, Cristal, Alianza y La U. De ahi salio Paolo Guerrero, Jefferson Farfan, Hector Chumpitaz y Nolberto Solano.
Huancayo through to the next round. This was the one I was absolutely confident about. Now hopefully they can reach at least the first round.
