Just a reminder the Libertadores start off with Morelia-Santa Fe.
For those of us in the USA the matches will be broadcast Live on Fox Deportes since a Mexican team is involved. :p

Tough match. FPC teams don't match well with Mexican teams.

Yup. History is not in the Colombian teams' favor but you never know. Morelia is not that great this season.

anyone watching this game? That goal !! OMG What a defensive F up !!

Why can't colombian teams cross a ball or complete a corner kick w/o losing it. Santa Fe has seriously lost every single 50/50 ball. It's pathetic

For as horrible as Santa Fe played they still were able to get a good result.

Getting that road goal was huge. 1-0 in Bogota and they are through.

IMHO very well. He made a few mistakes specially defending one on one, where is not fast enough and made a horrible foul on Cuero, almost a PK. But his field vision and ball control are awesome. I think he was involved in both Morelia's goals... Vargas had some great saves..

Riascos wasn't bad also. Had two great chances in the start which Vargas saved perfectly, afterwards he lost a bit form and was substituted. He is not, of course, a NT material but I wouldn't mind see him in my club and if Pipe Pardo can play in Europe, then he can play as well.

I liked Jefferson Cuero from Santafe, he created the PK (that Perez missed), he created the free kick for Perez's goal and set up Medina for a header that went straight to the GK.

That was a great free kick from Perez.
    Cuero is a fast bastard

Santa Fe's uniforms are the same like Depor Cali beside the color.

I wish the Santa fe uniforms were just 1 color. I don't like the white arms on them.

Agreed on Cuero. If he's lined up with the right type of mentor and can be shown to be a bit more clinical in his finishing he is Europe bound in no time. Very similar to Ecuador's Jefferson Montero.

    I want my cookie.

It was not all that pretty but they did what they had to do to survive and advance.

Nice to see a Colombian team eliminate a Mexican club since they usually have our number.

I have only one thing to say: OMAR PEREZ ES UN JUGADORAZO!!!!!!!

Felicitaciones para los hinchas Santafeñeros y para el equipo. I'm happy with every Colombian success abroad and hopefully they'll qualify for the second phase.

Yup I want the Semi final to have all Colombian teams. I know Nacionals group is hard but if they get out of it alive they have a great shot at being Champion. I want to see another Colombian team to lift this trophy then to see Colombia lift the WC. Would make me insanely happy.

Osorio needs to win it so he can boast about it when we look for a new NT coach

BIG CONCERN FOR SFe should be....what happens when Perez doesnt show up?
Also, Mendez has been horrid for the last 2 matches and SF defense needs to work much better on offside trap.

It already happened last year vs. Olimpia in the semi final and Santa Fe lost. Of course that it's a huge problem but it's a pure fact. Omar is their heart and he is a wonderful player. they are totally different team without him and Gutierrez will have to find solution for this issue.

It is how the team is built and they really can't do much other than hoping that they have some diamond in the rough that matures during this semester. On the other hand they have six months to work on it, improve their defense and if they make it past the QF, they have a nice WC break to get the team ready and possibly some extra punch.

happened to MIllos as well with Candelo. Teams should become more modern the old school #10 doesn't work for this reason. You stop him or he has a bad game and the team suffers big time. Perez was awful in Mexico not just the PK he missed but the whole game was utter crap. He got lucky with a free kick goal but he is an even more limited player than Bustos was. He just has an even better free kick than Bustos did.

Tho as soon as Perez retires we need to bring him into the youth teams to teach all colombian players how to score free kicks
