Oh, my mistake. I thought i heard Niembro (Fox Sports unbearable comentator) say sth about him being paraguayan, but now i think about it, I must've mixed it up and get confused with the striker Benítez (who actually is from Paraguay). Anyway, Sinha played a hell of a match. And Benítez finished with a world class definition.
Wow.... I am sorry... but that is as sneaky as sneaky can get!! I feel bad for São Paulo and ROgerio Ceni, being a good sportsman player and giving Ronaldinho some water...
Only 36. That's a child, by Ryan Giggs standards. Actually, he has over 50 caps for the Mexican national team. Very few seem to remember he's actually Brazilian-born down there.
But this guy is Paraguayan, oh and ....but this guy is Brazilian! lol I see the Mexicans were playing with either all foreigners or just 2 players. Either option will be ok in the thread. Suyuntuy, don't make your butthurt over the result so obvious.
No way man. I just know the Mexican folks, and they tend to just go over-board after a win. Whatever. I even follow the Liga MX when I can, so no hate from me. And good for Toluca, they needed good news after three defeats in a row.
That's a really good showing for a mexican side... as a Boca fan... they need to get tehir stuff together. I think when Roman comes back... with Burrito Martinez... it will be interesting. Just feel bad for Erviti... With that said, what is mexican sides records vs. Boca? I still remember that time Chivas won in the Bombonera in 2005 was it? And things just went CRAZY?
Chivas did not win in that stadium in 2005. But it did win 4-0 in Mexico, and on the return leg, a 0-0 draw sealed Boca's ouster and Chivas' berth in the semifinals. This was the match when a Chivas player, while being escorted out by shield-toting police, was spat upon by then-Boca manager Benitez. Before the Chivas player finally made it out, a few Boca fans invaded the pitch, attacked the player, and managed to climb back into the stands.
Could you imagine if a Mexican side did this to an MLS side? We would never hear the end of it from you cry babies - we already to you, are the most classless fans in the world.
Oh, I remember that game. I was so incensed by Cuauhtémoc Blanco's antics that I went to a forum in the Mexico forums and trash-talked him. I wasn't warmly received. As for Bofo and Brazilians, well, in 2006 my SPFC eliminated Bofo and his team. He trashed-talked, and Diego Lugano trash-talked back (a bit easier, probably, since he's Uruguayan and speaks Spanish). That elimination of Chivas was particularly memorable given Chivas defeated SPFC in Morumbi thereby breaking many years of international invincibility at home. SPFC returned the favor by winning in Mexico and in Brazil. Additionally, no one said Bofo is an angel. Benitez spat on Bofo, that's disgusting, reprehensible, and antithetical to fair play. You don't disagree, do you?... or would you express dislike only if the player getting spat on was Chilean?
That is an isolated incident and the only one that a Mexican club ever did in the Libertadores. In contrast with the Argentines, which is literally every year...
That São Caetano team was a Cinderella story. They reached the final of the 2002 Libertadores and eliminated Club América both in 2002 and in 2004, and fell to Boca Juniors only on PKs in 2004. In fact, if CONMEBOL’s rules for away goals had been in place then, São Caetano would have eliminated Boca Juniors.
LOL at Huachipato actually getting a decent result in Brazil. Totally unexpected after their horrific start in the Chilean league.
What can you guys tell me about Newell's and their supporters? 'Cus I just had a blast watching their crowd during this match. EDIT - And, apparently, Gabby Heinze is still a bit of a d-bag.
Damn, that save at the very last second by the GK of Huachipato almost matches Luis Suarez's in quality...
What do you want to know about them? They are from Rosario, province of Santa Fe right along the Parana River. Its a really beautiful city and most say they have the most beautiful women in Argentina. Its tied with Estudiantes with most championships with a club not from Greater Buenos Aires with 5. Their archrival is Rosario Central. Lionel Messi started there, as did Maxi Rodriguez, Nacho Scocco, and Gabriel Heinze, their 3 best players ATM. Lucas Bernardi who played the Champions League Final with Monaco also plays for them. Their stadium is named after Marcelo Bielsa, who used to coach them. Their coach is Tata Martino is the club's greatest idol of all-time. He was a great #10 back in the 80s and 90s. And yes, Heinze is a D-Bag and will always be one. I ********ing hate him
¡Gracias! I think I might just start following Newells, completely based on my viewing of the 2nd half of today's match. haha
Also, their fans are called "leprosos (the lepers)". It's a good story that also involves their classic rivals Rosario Central, but somebody else tell him, I'm making a milanesa with rice...
