Not bad at all. Venezuela y Bolivia no levantan cabeza.
The semis could be Mineiro vs. Corinthians and Gremio vs. Fluminense. The Brazilians must be stopped!
Anything is possible, but I think Velez are favorites to reach the semis. Gremio and Palmeiras look very beatable too. I'd expect at least 3 Brazilian teams to go out in the next round.
Um no. They aren't. On Boca's "international fan day" they proceeded to ransack all of downtown buenos aires, destroying shops, homes, restaurants, cars, etc. Mind you, there was no game played, it was just a congregation of all the criminals, illegal immigrants, and general scum who support boca. Every team in south america has probably rioted at some point or another, only boca fans have done on a day of celebration.
I hope so, but Boca right now doesn't have a defense. It's hard to win without a defense. Lets see if Bianchi can work a miracle.
Joking, man. I'm glad the Brazilian clubs have grown so strong. Let's hope the other South American leagues follow. Whatever improves the level of play in CONMEBOL even more is good news to me.
Even without the 1-6 against San Martin this past weekend, your team isn't exactly looking like a contender. Whereas against Corinthians last year your team had Insaurralde, Schiavi, and Roncaglia and Riquelme at a decent level, this year you have Cellay, Perez Albin, and a worsened version of Roncaglia. The current Riquelme is worse than his mid-2012 self. Toluca and Nacional showed your team is quite beatable at home, and unlike the finals, the away goal is a tiebreaker. My SPFC has underperformed, but if it shows the desire it showed last night, watch out.
I honestly think Newell's can beat Velez, depending on the health of Nacho Scocco. He broke the small toe on his right foot, and its a tricky injury. Both squads are very strong, both coaches are great and experienced, but Newell's has the individual talent to push them over the top. My team has played them both. Both matches were very even, the difference was Velez lacked a really dangerous striker, while Newell's beat us with a great individual goal from Scocco. The two teams actually play each other tonight in the league, though Velez I assume will rest most of their starters, as they are out of contention, but Newell's is only 2 points back of the leader and its clear they want to win the league after falling at the end in the last two tournaments.
Right, that's why I said Velez are the favorites to get out of that quadrant. Hopefully Corinthians will draw Santos in the Paulista quarterfinal so that they'll have a distraction while playing Boca.
The Campeonato Paulista will not distract anybody. SPFC, Palmeiras, and Corinthians will gladly sacrifice Campeonato Paulista success if that's what it takes for them to advance in the Libertadores.
What makes you think Velez is better than Newell's? Newell's is showing incredible form in the torneo local and the libertadores. They also came out of a much tougher group, while Velez had a rather easy group and has been shit in the local tournament. They are really missing Chucky Ferreyra, who was their top scorer in the Apertura when they won the title. Velez really lacks punch up front

I know I am late and Club Toluca is out of the tournament but I saw the game when they played Club Nacional of Uru at in South America and saw that the ref did a horrible job towards Toluca I can see that Libertadores has not changed still the same corrupted way.
