Easily the worst Brazilian team I've seen in a Libertadores match. Then again, it was one game so maybe it was a one off but I did read they're struggling even in their State championship in Brazil.

Cucuta...ara but a shadow of last year's team. I am a bit surprised: a lot of people made it seem as though this year's signings would be able to fill the shoes of last season's departees.

I don't think he's blaming anyone, to tell you the truth.
If anything, he blames River for playing like shit. :)
Though credit must be given where credit is due and UdeSM played a very good game, as well.

It was such a boring game. Santos showed absolutely nothing... their defense is as shaky as Real Potosi's and Cucuta couldn't take advantage of this. The whole game it seemed Cucuta were mostly waiting for something from Cabrera (if I remember his name correctly) and the dude couldn't do much if nothing else came up with him. Macnelly had flashes here in there but was mostly intercerpted throughout the whole game.

Chivas will take the group. San Jose is a big question mark for me but I'm guessing they are no Bolivar.

I'm anxiously waiting next Wednesday for the America vs Catolica game. Both teams seem to be rather inconsistent at the moment. Hope that Botinelli and Toloza are up to the task.

Oh believe me, he's blaming somebody. Maybe specific player/players. You always gotta blame someone :D

I'd just like to know who, since River are the big club favorites, etc etc...

Yeah Estudiantes didn't play bad. Veron had a good game. And they almost scored a goal de taco after a pass by Piatti that would have been one of the goals of the week. Too bad it hit the post.

Who am I blaming? The offense for not attacking, but mainly the defense (Ferrari-Tuzzio-Cabral-Villagra) who all had a horrific game.

Like I said, the offense didn't play well, but the defense did worse. If the "D" had been organized, it would have obviously been much easier to attack.

The only players I exclude from having a bad game were Ponzio and Carrizo (..and Abreu a bit). The rest were pure shit.

I'd like Chivas to face Boca in the second round but the first leg played at La Bombanera then the second leg in Estadio Jalisco Chivas owes Palermo and Boca one!

Well after all this may not be such a bad year for peruvian clubs, still got to see Universitario but still, Cienciano and San Martín don't seem to be hard to defeat when they are at home. I got to say that i was expecting more from Nacional.

Meanwhile Lanús once again had to sweat a lot to show the true difference between them and their rivals in the score.

So far home teams are having an interesting adventage over the visitors, still there were entertaining matches.

UAMaracaibo fans have A LOT of pression,
CaracasFC has 2 big rivals: Tachira & UAMaracaibo.

CaracasFC beat River 2 times last year and beat San Lorenzo
    Also, Mineros beat 2-1 Arsenal

Now UAMaracaibo has to step up to plate and show that they are not a bunch of spoiled pu.....s

UAMaracaibo is the richest team in Venezuela because they are partly financed by the mayor of Maracaibo.
But CaracaFC is the best institution, always finding cheap good players, have the best youth system and exporting many players every year.

    chao Audax.

That's true: Luqueno deservedly won a game by two very weak teams. However, it didn't help that Villanueva was kicked up and down throughout the game (I think SL finished the game with 7 yellows, 3 of which came for fouls on Carlitos ).
