Let`s hope that this is the WC where Latin America asserts itself on the World Stage, too many times it is only Brasil and Argentina who put up a fight. Why is it that other South American teams in particular think the highlight of their existence is to qualify for the WC, or qualify from the Group, but they have no real self belief or intention of going any further. Look at Uruguay v Holland 2010, why didnt they try harder? It was almost as if they went into the game thinking they had done enough and didn`t need to do anymore.

Chile (despite its group) and Colombia were poised to make some noise in the tournament, but key injuries have dampered those hopes (Falcao and Vidal). Even without those injuries, they most likely would have matched up with us -- Chile in the 2nd round, Colombia in the quarters and Uruguay (would potentially face Colombia in the 2nd round).

After the 2 past World Cups of European domination South America needs to win this World Cup!I have an old superstition every new year I put a one dollar bill on my wall so the year can flow with money on the dollar bill for this year 2014 there's four 6's and the serial number has an A and an F, in which I hope that Argentina and Brazil meet in the final with Brazil winning our 6th World Cup!!

Dilma Rousseff will watch only two World Cup games (opening game and the final), says minister of sports Aldo Rebelo.

She must be really afraid of getting booed. :D

Has anyone watched Colombia during this friendly period? I watched a lot of them during the wcqs but haven't seen them in awhile. I'm curious how they will play against Greece.

Nope. But I've heard various opinions on the subject of how much they will miss Falcao. The consensus seems to be that they are still solid enough to go through.
