Copa America 2020 (in 2021) not in Colombia & Argentina, but maybe Brasil? (Pre-thread)

Would be pretty cool if a bunch of us here were able to meet up next summer in one of the host cities for the games. I'm overdue for a trip to Medellin/Bogota =)

Be careful of atracadores at the exit of the stadium after colombia - bolivia.

That copa will be a fiasco and we wonr host the important matches

    Crazy rumor of the day...

...reports in Argentina are that the CONMEBOL are considering splitting the 2020 Final up; into an Ida and Vuelta. One in Barranquilla and one in Buenos Aires.

They are really thinking outside the box when it comes to the format of this Copa.

The final final is the most important one that is where the trophy is given

they need to hire at the very least a marketing intern....this would make zero sense unless both finalists are Col v Arg.
As I'm watching Pasto playing the FINAL "home" @ El Campin, they barely have half the stadium full.
Just give it back to the states, get Mex and USA as your invitees, make gazillions and lock up all your stars.

Colombian president saying if we don’t get the final we won’t host.

Can he do that? It’s a federation thing I thought. The government has to Ok the no tax thing.

He also said the NT might not go to the cup if it doesn’t host. That he can’t do.

I do feel that we should drop out if we don’t get the final or to host it by ourselves. Only reason to host with Argentina is to be like ok 2030 Colombia-Argentina World Cup ! That not happening then no reason to have this cup shared

What a silly comment. How the heck are you supposed to assure something like that?

I think saying we won't host is something that is legal to do because a Nation does not have to host if it does not want to.

The second part though saying we won't send a team is hugging the line of Government interference within a Federation's business. We could be sanctioned for that if it is proven that the President told the Federation to not send a team in 2020.
(But then again the Federation can say they came to that conclusion on their own in protest)

Good to hear. Shouldn't be a question at all. Argentina hosted 8 years ago, why the can get to host another one? They shouldn't even host the tournament.

You know I wish I could stay for the last few matches of this tournament; when I visit during my terminal leave from the Navy I have to be back before June is over in order to start my new job.

Didn’t LM get a huge contract for the F35s?

I do some work in Orlando and Lockheed has been taking up more office space for all this work they will be doing.
