I get breaking it up for 16 teams (two groups of 4) but 12 is just like any cup Unless Colombia - Argentina are using this as a test at hosting together for a 48 nation World Cup
Dont think so a lot of arabic people in colombia will presure to qatar......beggining with the char family
They are checking the possibility that only one nation will host the knockout stage due to the distance. So why the fu** didnt you give it only to Colombia in the first place? Which local tournament is this if we'll have to play the knockout stage in Argentina? And they already hosted in 2011.
¡¡EL OBJETIVO DE COLOMBIA!! 🇨🇴🏆🇨🇴Te contamos las posibilidades que tiene el país para ser la única sede de la Copa América 2020. 😱🇨🇴⚽https://t.co/OUxrEdGgDk— Deportes RCN (@DeportesRCN) April 10, 2019
I am not going to disagree with you, but I would like you to elaborate and clarify this. You don't think many tourists want to go to a Copa Ameria?
Hell in Medellin alone I tend to run into many foreigners that are visiting for both business and pleasure. Hell my father himself because of his perfect english is somewhat of a tour-guide and helps many investors who visit colombia.
no, i dont think so............or at least not more than today are visiting colombia that are a lot of. (will be an effect similar to world cup u 20) .........and more taking account that this year is copa america too..... people save money for world cups..........not for a cup that happened a year before........ Will atract something that brasil complained a lot of colombians and other latin fANS....That arrived there and sleep in the street and didnt pay restaurants or hotels............Also for this cup traveled club fans (barras) Not familys wanting to watch their countries....
Rumor has it Brasil is going to just focus on the 2019 Copa they host and send a youth team to the Colombian Cohost Copa America in 2020. Going to be like 2001 when they did not send their main stars and lost to Honduras. LOL Our biggest competition will probably be Peru in our Group if that is the case.
I would hope that Brasil doesn’t go down that road. Would hate for the other teams to follow their lead.
I agree. Hopefully it is a rumor that turns out to be false. But we also have to consider factors that are unknown like who will see this tournament as important. Qualifying will be the priority for many National teams so I can see teams saying this second Copa is not as important.
Hopefully we beat them in the final this year so they need to come with their A team in Colombia. I want both titles but having 1 with a * because Argentina didn’t show up and Brazil sent a C team last time takes a little away from it.
To be fair, that would be 4 Copa America's in 5 years with a WC in between... pretty ridiculous workload for these players with international duty.
Yes, Another factor some Federations will be taking into consideration when building their rosters. Although CONMEBOL might emphasize that there will be plenty of time for players to rest the summers of 2021 and 2023. While the summer of 2022 will have some rest time too due to the World Cup being in November. (Albeit a shortened summer in comparison due to the leagues starting up earlier.)
It’s crazy to think but by 2020 Chile will have played for 7 straight summers. 2 WC, 4 CA, and one confederation cup
Chile was all set to send a "B" team to Copa Centenario until the management change. Once PIzzi was hired he made it an effort to bring in the best players to acclimate them to his system. So blame the Federation on that summer.
Australia and Qatar likely to be invited for Copa América 2020, which will take place in Argentina and Colombia: https://t.co/MpGgVSlX6i— Paulo Freitas (@Cynegeticus) June 4, 2019
